  1. According to official sources, her specially written script made by her translator consists of Japanese original sentences, romanized pronunciation, one-by-one vocabulary meanings, and an English translation of the original dialogue… the detailed nature of her script enabled her to understand her own dialogue and her other co-stars dialogue… but, it also caused her script being 10 times thicker than her co-stars counterpart…

  2. despite Ellie and Charlotte are basically the same lady, the biggest contrast of these two personalities are; Ellie is quite stunningly fluent in Japanese, meanwhile Charlotte is not… the script writer intentionally left the details of how Ellie become so stunningly fluent in Japanese in a vague and ambiguous manner in order to let the audiences making their own conclusion… but, I hope NHK might produce a short prequel series of Massan, in which the story would be the time when Massan is studying in Scotland and his romantic encounter with Ellie….

  3. Charlotte has became a role model for the next foreign actresses who are about to be the next Japanese foreign heroine in the near future… I really hope NHK and the other Japanese TV to feature more foreign heroine in their drama in the future…

  4. despite she was an American national, she was still a legitimate Scottish descent since she inherited her Scottish blood from her grandmother…

  5. Though it's an afterthought, their decision was right. They wanted an actress who could speak Japanese and so mixed bloods between the Japanese and whites were promising candidates. But such girls wouldn't have made audiences feel the reality of Rita.
