  1. I shuddered when we had a “plan A”. This of course indicates a “plan B”. Rust never sleeps. Rust hides. You seem to have a near endless supply. Blasting cabinets change lives. Then they are never big enough. Then you realize that while they change lives, you began to wonder why it takes so long. At a certain point you feel there is no end. Then all of the sudden? You run out of rust. You are doing a wonderful job of it! You have taken a deep dive but you are making it your bitch! Very creative methods, solid repair, and a pot of gold at the end! Well done!

  3. On your videos I can not see any distortion due to heat. Do you really have no distortion with all the heat and extensive work you do to the doors and rear window frame? Your videos are my favorite as you only have tools and equipment that many of us have in our garages!

  4. Thanks for another great video. I do really enjoy each part. I liked the section on Plan A and Plan B. I also like the hour counter. Not many people realise the amount of time that goes into a proper restore. Opel certainly know how to make sure the body wasn't going to last. What are you doing about the running gear anf suspension. Are you going to restore this as well ?

    Keep well

  5. I have been waiting for this episode, you continue to amaze us with your skills and work. You inspire me on my restoration of my OPEL GT 1971. I have had nothing close to what you have to work with there as my rust is minimal compared to yours. Looking forward to episode #26 and your final product.

  6. Every time you take off a panel I wait with baited breath to see what horror is lurking below! I have to admire you resiliance, as the car is fighting you at every step!

  7. woow, now you show all your skills, i see that welding is better than ever, and imagine for a second when it will be finished, you will be as skilled as the 5000 factory workers.

  8. Again hats off for your skills.
    BTW.
I spoke to a very skilled panel beater who told that he once hand made a complete door skin for an Opel GT.
He told me that it was quite a task due the shape af the door, curving in all directions. You can see some of his work here:

The video is Danish but i think you will get a sence of his work.
Sadly he is passed away now. He used to give me some advice when i was rebuilding my Spitfire.
The music was so nice i this video, thanks.

  9. Always so impressed how you find solutions for difficult rust repairs. Been following your incredibly skillful restoration of the Opel since the beginning. I hope we will get to see the car drive once it's complete.

  10. Hey, thanks for your great videos, just binged watched the them while getting over some Man flu. Can’t wait for more of the ongoing restoration.

  11. Vinkki kaikille.

  14. wow so much work ,following you from first start . knowing how much work to resto a GT is and also the effort in filming editing uploading is, but next to this all… replying to every single person !! haha that's high end greetings (again) ariegt
p.s like the top of pops

  15. Well done mate, i had to d oa very similar repair on the tops (and bottoms) of some RA28 Celica doors, and it had similar reverse curve, its bloody tricky to make that section with simple tools.

  16. As much as I truly love the Opel GT, and I have the money to buy one and pay for repairs, this video series has scared me away, due to the extensive hidden (bad) surprises. I will continue to watch every second of your marvelous, unparalleled restoration, and in the meantime probably start looking for a low-mileage, 10-year-old Lotus Evora instead.
