[Today is the day we go on the long-awaited Taiwan trip] [It has been about five years since I traveled abroad so I’m very excited] [My husband couldn’t make the time so I’m going only with my family] [We promised to come with a keyring so even my dad had one on]

[Bread for a simple breakfast at the airport] [My last plane ride was Jeju, so it has been a while] [We’re really leaving] [Reached Taiwan in two and a half hours] [The weather is about between spring and early summer!] [I’m nervous because it’s my first time in Taiwan]

[It was a little humid when we got off the plane but it is cool inside because of the air conditioning] [They say Taiwan is hot in the day but cold at night but I can’t tell that yet] [Cardigans or windbreakers are necessary although it is from 20 to 25 degrees] [Excited younger sibling]

[They didn’t ask us anything at the immigration… I was going to say I am here for a trip] [Taiwan Lucky Draw! We applied for a travel fund] [Three out of five of us got selected!] [It’s 5,000 TWD which is about 200,000 won]

[Can be used in Taiwan market Carrefour, Seven Eleven, Starbucks, McDonalds, public transports] [We bought sneakers at ABC Mart because we had a lot left at the end of the trip] [They say it’s easier to be selected in January]

[Getting the travel fund and exchanging currency can take an hour at the airport so you should allocate plenty of time] [We’ll be going to our accomodation by Uber] [Maybe a weather fairy came to Taiwan.. It didn’t rain at all for the whole trip]

[It was around 20 degrees on the first day, so wearing long sleeved shirt was great for the day but cold at night] [We’re going to the hotel in our Uber] [It’s a little far from the city, but they say it’s big and pleasant here] [It’s close to Banqiao Station]

[Finally to our rooms to unpack] [My siblings and I will use the room with three beds and my parents will use a separate room!] [Coffee and the mini bar is free] [There’s not much to see outside] [We will go to Shimen Ting Station]

[We wanted to go to Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle but we didn’t have time] [First time in Taiwan but the streets seem Taiwanese, it’s cute] [Everything looks good when you travel] [Cute traffic light in Taiwan] [I-cash card that we got with the travel fund! We used it well during our travel]

[It took about 20 minutes from the hotel to Shimen Ting Station] [The pineapple cake on the card is cute] [We’re on our way to eat the onion pancake and the Kari donut near the main station of Taipei] [There’s a whole egg inside something like fried jeon]

[There’s a long line for Kari donut, so we’re going to eat it while waiting] [I was hungry because all I ate was a piece of bread at the airport] [Can’t keep my stomach empty while waiting for the donut] [It’s very oily but not greasy and there’s spicy sauce]

[Eating it although I’m getting oil all over my lips] [There’s a whole egg inside] [This trip is going to be all about food] [Finally our turn] [The fried donuts were refilled immediately] [Dipping the donut in the milk powder] [You are so pretty and cute…]

[My mom liked it because the donut wasn’t sweet but simple] [Nothing too special but it’s warm and fluffy because it’s made just now] [I saw many reviews saying the milk taste is strong and it really tastes like soft milk] [There were locals in line too but the line shortens pretty quickly]

[It’s 1,600 won per piece so it’s cheap so it’s good to try it while you’re traveling here] [Washing it down with convenience store milk tea that my sister bought] [There’s IU in the subway of Taiwan] [My sister filming me filming her]

[It wouldn’t be easy to come here if we’re not tourists so we came] [Cremia in the department store before we go up to the tower] [We bought milk ice cream and strawberry milk ice cream because they looked good] [It just tastes like Sangha farm milk ice cream]

[We got on the fast elevator that goes up to the 89th floor] [It’s half people and half photo place] [The weird thing is that the inside is hotter than the outside] [It’s just Lotte World Tower] [You can see all of Taipei in night] [There’s a place to take pictures like this]

[My parents liked it] [There are separate stairs to go up to the 101st floor to see from the outside] [The night view that looks like it is seen from inside a prison] [Am I trapped somewhere?] [The 101 character looks kind of annoying] [My youngest sister looks excited]

[There are many places to take pictures on the way for dinner] It’s really pretty here. [I’m excited too] [Our restaurant for dinner was YEN Taipei] [It’s a restaurant inside W Hotel] [We came here because the reservation for KiKi Restaurant was full, but it was a good choice]

[They kept refilling the Oolong tea, which was simple and warm] [Maybe we could eat more because the tea helps with digestion] [We ordered apple juice by mistake but our server just gave it to us for free] [They said “Welcome to Taiwan” which seemed so friendly] [It tasted like pure apple] [Very fresh]

[First time trying Peking duck] [They wrapped the Peking duck with vegetables in wheat crepe wrap] [K-Confucius girl waiting for my parents to eat first] [Is this Peking duck? It’s only a mouthful] [It’s a mouthful but I’ll eat it in two to save it] [It’s so good]

[Thought it would be just meat, but it’s very crunchy on the outside but chewy on the inside] [I want to eat a few more] [Beef noodle soup is a must if you’re in Taiwan] [The noodle looks like Kalguksu with meat] [A meat dish with an unknown name] [And dietary fiber for my parents]

[The meat is good here] [The foods here were the least salty in Taiwan] [Especially the vegetables were delicious] [I should’ve had a lot here if I had known I couldn’t go to the famous beef noodle soup restaurant on our last day] [The beauty of traveling is that it doesn’t go as planned]

[The meat was very bouncy like the cartilage] [The soup was so good] [It’s really thick but it tastes different from rice noodles or gomtang] [Successful dinner for the first day of Taiwan] [We went to the 24-hour Carrefour market] [It’s a Taiwanese market that sells everything like snacks, alcohol, ramen, meat and fruit]

[For my parents who always need apples for breakfast] [Bought the Taiwanese apple called wax apple] [3:15 Milk Tea which is famous in Taiwan! I bought some for presents and for home] [I’m regretting only buying one for myself… I finished it quickly because it was thick and creamy] [Chili Beef Flavor Instant Noodles]

[Dr.Q jelly can’t be ignored by a jelly lover] [There were many flavors like mango, lychee, peach, strawberries but the lychee one is good] [I bought a few because I thought my nephews would like them] [I’m going to buy some Lays because they say Taiwan has many flavors] [Lays seaweed flavor]

[Lays truffle flavor, this is really delicious] [Couldn’t buy mala and wasabi because they weren’t there] [I bought chocolate and milk flavors of this snack that looked like Homerun Balls as they looked good] [They sold pineapple cakes but we didn’t get them because we’re going to get some in Yongkang]

[Popular teddy bear air freshener] [They say the scent is really good so I’m going to get it for my closet] [There are two kinds of pudding, and I bought the expensive one because I thought it would taste better] [If we don’t know Chinese, just buy what we feel like]

[My favorite snack from Olive Young! Nutella biscuits] [There’s nutella jam inside, but the price was devilish] [It’s 8,000 to 9,000 won on sale, but it’s half the price here] [It’s almost 5,000 won] [I should’ve bought two… I already finished it] [It’s not a Taiwanese snack, but it’s cheap and delicious]

[We went to the FamilyMart near our hotel after Carrefour] [Bought a creampuff for a night snack] [We wanted to try the Taiwanese boiled eggs called Tea Egg but it’s sold out] [Getting ice cream leaving disappointment behind] [I got the pudding flavored ice cream] [The ice cream looks like a toy]

[The taste also feels like a toy] [Simple custard taste] [Can’t really say it’s pudding flavored but it’s sweet and cold] [It’s similar to SAMANCO cream flavor] [Ready to eat the night snacks right after we returned to our hotel] [Will also eat the pudding from Carrefour] [At first I was confused]

The taste is a bit… Does it taste bad? [Initially, this tastes interesting, but when I try caramel syrup at the bottom, it tastes like honey] No, it’s an interesting taste, huh? Pretty nice. Wow, the syrup is really good. I like the syrup.

[I don’t know what it’s called, but it’s a pudding with a cute pudding character painted on it] [The custard flavor is rich, with a hint of egg aroma, while the syrup has a sweet and bitter caramel taste!] [Some puddings have a weird separated texture, but this one is both smooth and jelly!]

[Taiwan is the best country for the convenience store pudding…] [The thing is that I found another pudding better than this on the last day] [And creampuff] [I had a bite to show the inside, but the cream bursted out] [Oh, this is good]

[It tastes like baby creampuff from Paris Baguette or Tous Les Jours!] And I’ll try the chocolate one. [I prefer the chocolate one! Bitter sweet] [This one is Doctor Q jelly with lychee flavor I bought from Carrefour] [It’s konjac jelly] [It doesn’t look special, but it’s sweet and tangy lychee flavor]

[I finished with jelly haha] [Where are you going to early in the morning?] [I’m going to The Lin Family Garden and have some Taiwanese breakfast this morning] [It is said that when I’m in Taiwan, I must try a Taiwanese breakfast]

[There’s a famous breakfast restaurant called Yong He Dou Jiang, but it’s far from where I’m staying] [So today I’m going to a breakfast restaurant on the way to The Lin Family Garden instead] [Apparently, it’s a very small local place according to other people’s review]

[Dou Zhang, Dan Bing, and Youtiao! I said them wrongly in the video] [It’s a perfect route taking a walk around The Lin Family garden after breakfast nearby] [There are so many bicycles and motorbikes in Taiwan] [I came to that restaurant] [The long stick is Youtiao] [It seems to be run by family]

[The Youtiao, looks like twisted breadsticks, and Dou Jiang (warm soy milk) were served first] [They close by 10, but I came there around 9. So I could get only one dan bing] [Most of Taiwanese breakfast restaurant close between 10-13, so it’s better to come early in the morning…]

[You should dip Youtiao into Dou Jiang] [Youtiao itself is quite bland, but dipping into the soy milk makes it nice and soft] [It’s empty inside like puff] [I don’t think Youtiao is that nice, but I enjoyed Dan Bing a lot]

[Eggs were put into the wheat crepe, but it was less oily than Chong Zhua Bing] [Depending on the restaurants, they put different toppings in Dan Bing such as bacon, cheese, eggs and etc.] [My mom wanted to have some more Dan Bing, but there’s no more available. It was a bit shame…]

[But she still loved the soy milk as it tastes sweet and warm] [As I was enjoying the breakfast on the street, I could see people going to work and school] [Now we’re heading to The Lin Family garden, which is 1 minute away] [I only spent 4,000 won for the breakfast]

[Taiwanese food is so cheap] [This is The Lin Family garden over there] [I had to buy the ticket by the entrance for 3,000 won before going inside] [They asked me if I’m Korean. I received a map for Korean]

[The Lin Family garden seems to be a good place for walking alone or with family peacefully] [There are also many good photo spots too] [My mom is taking a picture of me] [Now heading back to the accomodation] [The breakfast restaurant closed already when we are going back] [Weather is perfect for travelling]

[Since my dad wants more food for breakfast, we stop by Seven Eleven, and found Cha Yedan] [I could smell a strong oriental medicine scent] [I should’ve bought that rice cake, it looks so nice] [When we came back to the accommodation, my siblings were sleeping. I’ll try this egg] [Oh, its smell is interesting]

[At first, it doesn’t seem much different from roasted eggs, but in the end, I can smell a strong tea scent] [It’s a mix of scents of tea and oriental medicine] [Such a treat] [The wax apple I bought at Carrefour yesterday] [I can’t give up fiber in the morning] [Wow]

[ can’t taste anything from this] [It’s quite crunchy and refreshing] [It’s a sort of healthy flavor] [I’m ready to go out] [Since I packed only a few items as a traveler, I’m going to wear the same skirt, boots and bag!]

[This is a scarf I bought on Coupang for 10,000 won, using it very well] [Ok, let’s go] [Today, we’re going to Tamsui] [When traveling, even travelling on buses can be romantic] [Travelling to Tamsui for more than a hour] [I wish I could eat Nene Chicken now]

[Leaving the chicken behind, we came to the Tamsui old rail] [Our youngest is enthusiastically taking pictures to get the best shots for our parents] [Wow, she’s so flexible] [Now she’s doing this for my best shots] [After this, we became so hungry, so started looking for a restaurant]

[We came to a restaurant where we can taste a Taiwanese home food] [When travelling, interestingly, I feel hungry so easily] [Beef noodle soup one of my siblings ordered] [A noodle dish my dad ordered called Jjajang Mien(?)]

[Since my dish hasn’t been served yet, I tried some Jjajang Mien. It tastes like soy bean paste and a bit salty] [It’s a unique taste, a bit salty but with crunchy cucumber, refreshing the palate] [Above all, the soup is the best] [The meat is similar to cartilage]

[It was nice for me, who is a meat lover] [I can be completely soaked into the rich flavor of the broth] [The youngest’s choice is fried pork with rice] [Mine is grilled chicken with rice] [I didn’t know that it came with bones] [I thought it would be boneless] [Oh, tastes familiar to me]

[It is juicy and tender like the grilled chicken we can get in the market] [As I enjoy chicken and rice together, this combination of fried rice and chicken?] [It’s perfect for me] [The cabbage pickles paired with pork rice and jjang mien are also amazing]

[It refreshes the palate after having the oily fried dishes] [I tried some meat and noodles from my sibling] [The fried pork rice the youngest ordered looks so nice, so I’ll try some of it as well] [Guys, this fried pork rice and the meat noodle are the best dishes here]

[If you order both of them together, you can enjoy the rice, noodle, soup and meat at the same time] [No break time for eating food. We came straight for dessert] [When travelling in Taiwan, I had a wish I had five stomachs so I could switch them out before trying the next food]

[They want to have some ice cream….] [No way, Taiwan is known for bubble tea] [Black sugar bubble tea I got from PRESO TEA] [Surprisingly, it’s less sweet than Gongcha] [The pearls are more chewy and softer, but less sweet than Korea]

[We came to a black sesame & peanuts ice cream shop which the youngest wants to try] [I got half black sesame and half peanuts one] [He topped it with the peanut powder and cookie] [It looks so tasty] [Apparently, it’s only made of milk, so melting quickly] [So I should eat it up quickly]

[He suggested to dip the ice cream with the cookie. It’s really nutty] [The only drawback is melting so quickly, so I have to devour it] [But it was nice] [Walked through the cute alley, you can see the seashore]

[It’s a unknown place but as I walked along, I stumbled upon a seaside street along with a shaved ice shop and a cafe] [It’s a cute seaside village that looks like a place in an animation] [Why are you they alone?] [Walking peacefully with watching a street cat]

[Fortress San Domingo closed….] Oh, no! Seriously? [I’m not qualified as ‘J’ type of person anymore… How come didn’t I check the closing time? I didn’t expect it to close at 5…] [Fortress San Domingo was one of my main attractions] [If I came 30 minutes earlier, I could have got in]

[I thought my plan is perfect, but failed] [Left the regret behind, heading to Aletheia University] [The youngest dressed up for Fortress San Domingo] [But, she couldn’t take any picture] [Me neither] [This is a filming location of ‘Secret’. It’s so nice and romantic] [I wouldn’t be surprised if I hear piano sound suddenly]

[The building is built of red bricks. It’s good for photo shots] [While heading back to the station, I spotted the famous grandma’s mochi place, so we decided to drop by] [They have a Korean menu, but it’s quite pricey]

[Although I ordered the red bean one, she brought me one with pearls. I might have said it wrongly. haha] [This one seems to be the best seller here! Peanut milk mochi] [Oh, it’s becoming Injeolmi] [Or slime?] [Oh…] [It actually tastes like a slime] What is this? [That’s what you ordered]

[Let’s try the next food since we digested] [Sugar apple that we couldn’t get at Carrefour!] [They say the sugar apple in the night market is much sweeter than the ones in Carrefour] [They let us try all the fruits and they all tasted fresh and sweet]

[The sugar apple was smooth like butter but it wasn’t sour at all, just sweet] [It was one of my favorite fruits because it was much sweeter than melons or mangoes] [Honestly it was the most delicious food I’ve had in Taiwan] [We came to a shaved ice place in the night market]

[They had various flavor but we went for mango because it’s Taiwan] [Don’t play with the food] [Stop] [Finally eating mango panna cotta shaved ice] [Does she know what being full feels like?] [The ice is yellow and the panna cotta was soft but the mango was frozen mango]

[If we’re not going on mango season it’s better to eat sugar apples] [After something refreshing, it’s spicy and salty again] [Don’t think hard about Taiwanese fried chicken] [They fry the chicken then season it and roast it on the grill again, it can’t be bad]

[You can request to cut it and the spicy powder is an option] [This one is good as it looks! It’s not salty at all and it tastes like chicken cutlet]] [I’ve never tried Taiwanese fried chicken before in Korea but it’s really good] [Crusty on the outside but soft on the inside] [Really last]

[The warm one that my sister wanted was sold out so we got the iced one, but it’s better] [Taiwan seems like a land of sweet potatoes, they all taste good] [Actually everything I ate here was delicious] [This is really final]

[I didn’t want to eat anymore but I bought the pineapple bun as soon as I smelled the butter] [I chose butter, not the ice cream] [The soboro on the outside was sweet and the butter inside melts because of the warmth and it smells insanely good]

[The original one tastes the best… It tastes better when it’s hot] [People can rent umbrellas in every station because of the rainy climate] [We couldn’t go past it] [We should do intermittent fasting by skipping breakfast] [We need to eat five meals a day while we’re traveling] [Don’t skip your meals!]

[It’s a plain salmon sushi but it’s big and there was a delicious sweet sauce] [Would’ve enjoyed it better without the wait] [Bacon scallops skewer after devouring the salmon] [The Xing Fu Tang was bland but the milk tasted earthy and the pearls were so soft]

[It was less sweeter than Gongcha but it was still delicious] [The bubble tea from Taiwan is generally less sweeter but I enjoyed it] [I kept drinking the Xing Fu Tang because it was better than the salmon sushi] [I have something to buy in Starbucks on the last day] [It’s not the Taiwanese cup]

[Honey grapefruit syrup! I should’ve bought two, I regret buying only one because it was heavy] [You should buy at least two for this] [Taipei rainbow sidewalk right in front of Shimen Ting Station] [There’s the Red House right across the road] [Returning to our hotel after enjoying the last day]

[What are you eating right after you returned?] [The Chili Beef Flavor that I didn’t eat yet] [Milk puff snack] [Pudding that I didn’t eat this morning] [I must show this to you] [Put the soup base in that smells like black pepper and put boiling water in]

[It looks like beef that’s in beef seaweed soup!] [I only ate salmon sushi so I’m hungry] [I don’t want to be aggravated by the hunger, so I’ll eat the pudding quick] [The caramel syrup is like the Han River] [So much syrup and it’s delicious]

[Sugar apples, bubble tea, Taiwanese pudding, and the Chili Beef Flavor noodles were my favorite foods in Taiwan] [I kept exclaiming that it was delicious] [Pudding that’s always sold in convenience stores in Taiwan] [The syrup is hardened and it tastes like vanilla oil] [What I chose is delicious]

[The cup noodles were ready when I finished the pudding] [After a bite, I could tell that this was phenomenal] [The soup tastes strong and the noodles and beef all taste great] [I want to take some to Korea but I can’t because of the meat]

[It’s sold in Korea too but it’s much cheaper here] [I thought that it would’ve been perfect if I had the salmon sushi that I had before right now] [If your hotel is near Sammi restaurant, you should do take out and eat it with this cup noodle]

[The line for the take out is much faster] [Traveling is not giving you enough time to digest] [Nod if you get it] [The next is Milk Puffs] [Why] [Why won’t it open?] [I opened it before I got angry] [It tastes like sweet white chocolate Ganache]

[It looks like homerun-ball but it’s more crunchy and sweet] [There’s white chocolate inside] [I bought some more of this to Korea from Seven Eleven with my I-cash card] [The chocolate is melted a little which made it sweeter] [Finished it all alone] [Going to McDonalds not to waste time three hours before my flight]

[It started to rain that day] [Came to eat the Kitty Special]] [But failed] [I came too early] [Sad but I got the McMorning to go] [Started to sell the lunch menu right after I ordered the McMorning] [But I still got the corn soup and the fried sweet potatoes that I wanted to try]

[I ran to get it for my siblings (actually for me)] [The fried sweet potatoes smelled really nice] [Egg burger!] [Oreo McFlurry and McNuggets] [Honey black iced tea] [Last meal] [Trying the warm fried sweet potatoes first] [It’s amazingly good!]

[Taiwan really is the land of sweet potatoes… I got sure of it after the fried sweet potatoes] [The sweet potato itself is sweet and soft] [My siblings liked the fried sweet potatoes the most so I was pleased] [Fried carbohydrates are the best] [The corn soup that’s only sold in Taiwan]

[It’s a soft soup with tons of corn in it] [I didn’t think I’d like it because of the softness but the corn taste is strong and creamy] [I liked that I could feel the corn] [Honey black iced tea was alright]

[The egg burger had a sausage patty, eggs, and vegetables in between the fluffy bun] [The bun was soft and felt like it had butter on it] [There were a lot of mayonnaise sauce and the sausage patty had a black pepper scent]

[I couldn’t get the Taiwanese representative burger but it’s successful for a McMorning] [It felt like a snack because it was small] [They gave us four when I asked for ketchup] [It could differ from each case, but Taiwanese people gave a lot when I ask for something]

[They were very friendly and I only have good memories] [This is a double Oreo McFlurry] [I ate it while filming Shorts but it was very good] [Not only the size was big, but it’s thick because there were a lot of Oreos in it]

[I saw somewhere that there were strawberry Oreo McFlurry in Taiwan but they didn’t have it at the store] [With the fried sweet potatoes] [You can’t go wrong with ice cream and fried food] [You should try the fried sweet potatoes and the corn soup if you come to McDonalds in Taiwan!] [It’s a gourmet]

[McNugget was kind of bad] [We’re going to use the private transfer service from the hotel to Songshan Airport after our meal] [We’re going back to Korea] [I wasn’t planning on turning the camera on at the airport, but the pudding from Seven Eleven was so good]

[This was the best pudding from the convenience store pudding in Taiwan!] [I’m really leaving, see you later Taiwan] [I feel like a total mess compared to before I went to Taiwan] [I will make a quick review on the Taiwanese snacks] [Tsung Ying nougat cracker, Sunmerry pineapple cake, Saint Peter coffee nougat cracker]

[First the Tsung Ying nougat crackers!] [The nougat is thick] [The crackers were crunchy with the green onion scent and the nougat was thick and sweet!] [This is a great combination of sweet and salty] [It tastes like a handmade nougat cracker] [Saint Peter coffee nougat crackers] [It’s wrapped individually]

[The Tsung Ying felt handmade while Saint Peter felt factory made] [There’s coffee nougat in the middle] [I don’t know about the taste] [The coffee taste is not strong] [It’s not bad but it’s not good, just normal] [I personally think that the Tsung Ying crackers were more fulfilling]

[If you heat this up a little bit, it’s sweeter and the nougat stretches] [Now the Sunmerry pineapple cake] [There are tiny pineapple cakes] [It tastes alright too] [The packaging is cute and it’s a normal pineapple cake test so I think it’s good for gifts]

[A foreigner friend once gifted me a pineapple cake before] [I don’t remember the name… It was bigger and fuller and the butter was strong] [I think it’s because I had a good impression from the first time I’ve tried it] [This one is delicious too] [There’s pineapple jam in the middle]

[The Lays truffle flavor from Carrefour] [The truffle scent was very strong as soon as I opened it] [I’m sad I could only buy one because the size was big] [It’s a salty chip with a strong truffle scent] [I finished it once I opened it]

[I am wrapping up the Taiwan trip with snacks review] [Tsung Ying nougat crackers heated a little bit] [It’s so good] [Starbucks honey grapefruit syrup, when mixed with Earl Grey and ice, becomes a grapefruit honey black tea]

[The grapefruit pulp is chewy! It would be great if this could be a reference for those going to Taiwan]
