【パリで暮らす日本人】世界のファッションショーを見た ジャーナリスト井上エリさんの一生忘れられないコレクション

Hello to all AXES channel viewers! I’m Elie Inoue, fashion journalist. -I’m Elie Inoue and I’m a fashion journalist. I’m a journalist who writes articles for Japanese media I’m a journalist who writes reports for collections and stuff like that. And not just for big brands. Copenhagen, for example.

And this year, we’re going to go to Uzbekistan in Central Asia. Fashion Weeks in different cities. My main job is to interview designers. When did you start in Paris? I graduated from a Japanese university and went to New York. It’s like Paris since 2016. So you graduated right away and then you went.

Yes, that’s right. Graduated already. I left Japan a few weeks later He said he was already working in New York. Yes, that was a real fluke. right after I went there. At that time, more than 10 years ago.

I got to know a photographer who had lived in L.A. for about 20 years and He introduced me to an editor of a men’s magazine. And from there, I started working as a coordinator and And then I’ve been working as a writer.

I contribute to a magazine for Japanese people living in New York. I was doing a little bit of writing work at a time. I’ve been freelance from the beginning, I don’t work for anybody. -I’ve been a fashion journalist since I started working as a fashion journalist. When I was young

I didn’t have a lot of “I want to do this.” I think about what kind of life I want to lead. I like to travel. First of all, I like to travel a lot, so I travel a lot. To experience different cultures in different countries. I wanted to meet people from different backgrounds.

I was wondering what kind of work I could do to do that. You get to meet all kinds of people in the name of reporting. So I thought that a writer or a journalist would be a good job, and I can work with just one computer while I’m traveling.

There’s what kind of life I want to lead. And I thought, “Well, I’m a journalist.” And then I got into it, and that’s how I’ve been doing it. 42 00:02:39,225 –> 00:02:48,034 How did you end up in Paris? I was in New York for about two years.

I was pretty tired of the city. I like New York City. I’m not sure I’d live there. I guess it wasn’t a very good fit. Now that I think about it There was a time when I was mentally ill. And they wouldn’t give me a visa.

So I decided, “Well, let’s go to a different city.” At that time, I was already doing a lot of fashion I wanted to do more fashion and I’ve always liked Europe. since I was about 12 or 13 years old when I first started traveling. So we decided to go that way after all.

So we decided to go that way. -I feel like this is the best job I’ve ever had. Loewe’s current director, Jonathan Anderson, is… He’s a man who’s also very knowledgeable about art. I think he has a great ability to read the times, so

I think he’s got a great ability to read the times, and I think he’s got a great ability to read the times. You know, an interview that touches on the philosophy of the designer… It’s all been a wonderful experience. They’re all people that you don’t get to meet very often. That’s very valuable.

67 00:04:02,508 –> 00:04:09,515 What’s so fascinating about being a fashion journalist? Politics, economy, history, culture and There’s a tremendous connection with a lot of things. For example, when you look at one collection what was the designer thinking? what they were trying to express with that collection. When I tried to examine it myself.

I always have to touch on other areas to decipher that, so It’s not just a mere “clothing” thing. It’s about the various other genres that are behind it. I’m being allowed to learn, because I can learn I think that’s what I enjoy the most. As a fashion journalist, I’m a fashion journalist.

So I’m more than just a fashion lover or simply a clothes lover. I like that world that surrounds fashion. Once you feel the depth there I think I’m getting more and more into it. 84 00:04:56,22 –> 00:05:04,604 About the appeal of collection coverage This is from the editor-in-chief.

‘People who are involved in media, not working for one brand…’ Because you get to see things from a broader perspective.” It’s not about that one dot.” “It’s about seeing how the dots are connected.” I think it’s a job that’s going to be needed in the future.

He said, “We are happy to be involved in this work.” I thought, “Yes, that’s really true. I don’t want to take your word for it here, but… I think that’s the charm of collection interviews. Fashion is a mirror It’s often said that fashion is “a mirror of the times.”

You can really see that when you cover a collection. -The most impressive collections are the ones that are The most impressive collection Gucci’s previous director, Alessandro Michele. In the first last collection. The twins wearing the exact same look. There was one that was going to be in the show.

And they would come out one at a time at first. So we’re sitting in our seats, and there’s a wall across from us. About halfway through the show, that wall opens up. And then there’s seating on the other side. At first I thought I was seeing myself in the mirror.

I saw a lot of people who were totally different. So you’ve got two looks coming out of there side by side. And you’re wondering if it’s a mirror, and that, too, of course, is a twin. It’s not a mirror. There was a show where they said there were two of the same look.

And of course the production of the show itself… It’s something that looks exactly the same. There are different identities Each one of us is a unique person, with our own personality. That they are all different. We can see through the twins’ look

I think that was the concept that we were trying to convey, so When I somehow interpreted it in my own way and got the message across. Tears flowed down my face. Like a baby. I had this experience of my soul shaking. I will never forget that show. I would love to see that.

Would love to see it on video It’s so amazing! -I have an obsession with fashion… I have a complex about my lower body and I don’t want to show my legs too much. I want to cover it up and not show my legs.

The whole thing is to make it look balanced and beautiful, and that’s what I’m trying to do. I guess I’m a bit obsessive about it. So there are a lot of long dresses. I’m very sensitive to what’s fashionable and so on in terms of my work.

I don’t really incorporate it as something that I incorporate. I value items that can be used with love for a long time. -My rule at work that I never break… Meeting deadlines That’s about 12 years now. I’ve never been late for a writer’s job. So I take care of that.

Thank you very much. That was a pounding word. Yes, that’s right. I don’t have a good foundation at all. I’ve been working in my own way from the beginning. Not writing skills. I mean, you know, you’re supposed to protect it properly.

I just have to make sure that I do the really basic things. I’m doing it. I’d like to ask you to switch to the other side for a moment. -How to spend your day off… Seeing an exhibition at a museum Then we go to a cafe and have a chat.

I go to the city, go to the park, and just relax. I don’t go to the Louvre or the Orsay or any of the big museums. 00:08:59,472 –> 00:09:01,674 Like the Montmartre museum. Cartier Museum, for example. I tend to go to relatively small museums.

When I’m really lazy, I watch comedy on YouTube all the time. I’m from Kansai, so I can’t live without comedy. I’m from Osaka, so I can’t live without it. Yes, sir. Far from the glamorous world of fashion He’s laughing. 167 00:09:25,831 –> 00:09:33,606

Even in casual places where all my friends come in jeans. I wear this kind of dress. So you already have your own style. That’s right. It’s like I just wear what I like, but… I think long dresses are my uniform. I also wear a leather jacket. And I like tailored jackets.

I like to carry a mini size bag. 177 00:10:00,666 –> 00:10:11,777 -Basic wardrobe items for adult women Everyday clothes for working women are You’re very good at nuance. The clothes you wear to go out a little bit. Clothes to wear to work Attend a fancy dinner in the evening

I have dresses and items for all of these. We have items for all kinds of occasions. It’s very sophisticated and elegant. It’s also very easy to wear. It’s very comfortable to wear. So when I put my sleeves on Jil Sander, too… I feel like a better woman.

So I recommend Jil Sander for adult women. 194 00:10:53,285 –> 00:11:01,194 -About my favorite bag Hermes bags and Jil Sander is easy to use, and Loewe’s puzzles and hammocks are Ladies and gentlemen, as you know I think it’s both easy to use and well-designed.

197 00:11:18,444 –> 00:11:26,152 About the difference between French and Japanese fashion Jane Birkin, Brigitte Bardot, etc. Now, I’m thinking of Jeanne Damas. If it was a different Parisienne in that sense. nonchalant I think the most important thing is to be natural. I think it’s cool to have hair that’s a little bit shaggy.

And I don’t wear a lot of make-up. I think it’s a way of showing yourself as you are. I think that’s what people generally call Parisienne. Japan is quite proper. fashion and make-up that is very detailed and careful. I think it’s Japanese. I think that’s a big difference.

212 00:12:04,523 –> 00:12:04,523 –> 00:12:14,667 But they show a lot of exposure. I don’t mean to be overtly feminine. It’s like femininity that oozes out as sexuality. I think Parisienne. For example, if you choose one T-shirt It’s not a very tight fit.

But it’s a little bit subtle, like it shows the lines of the body. like jeans that show feminine curves. Something that shows off the silhouette and lines of the body. I think it’s very Parisian. I live in Paris, but I don’t consider myself a Parisienne.

-The trend to watch in the Parisian fashion scene… Quiet Luxury It can be a fabric or something else. For example, on the inside of a jacket where only you can see it. embroidery that only you can see. Amazing focus on detail

I think it’s the pursuit of materiality and quality that’s what I’m talking about. Quiet Luxury, I think. It’s not about showing off, it’s about how clothes make you happy. I think this is one of the current trends. In the luxury fashion market France is full of French brands.

Most of the luxury brands are from France. As for the market Because the French rarely consume in luxury. Because they don’t spend a lot of money on things The richer you are, the more you come from an aristocratic background, the more that they don’t buy luxury items. It’s a pretty common belief

It’s more of an experience or something that’s used in everyday life. Tableware, perhaps interior design. I think it’s like investing there. So fashion is totally different in that sense. -And that’s what I like about Paris. I like to see a lot of architecture, too. I think it’s very much to my taste.

I mean, sometimes I don’t like it, but I live in Paris, and I like it. Even with all of those things… I’m just fine with it because it’s beautiful. I forgive you. even if you live there for seven years.

If you go down a narrow street or something that you haven’t been down before, you’re not going to be able to find it. And you find something beautiful. And that’s the same thing with fashion. It’s not something for show. It’s a wound that has been made in daily life and history.

And you can find beauty in that. I think Paris has that kind of deep beauty. -What is the greatest success you have ever had in your life? Success You know, “succeeds” or “succeeded.” Rather than something that one can accomplish something I think it’s something that’s there in the flow of time, so

I’m assuming that that’s my concept of what I’m talking about. I mean, success so far. My family and people close to me, especially my mother. Because they are so proud of me. I think that’s the success so far, and And my grandfather who passed away, and my father.

Like they’re bragging to their buddies in heaven, “Hey, that’s my grandson. I hope he’s proud of me, and I hope he’s proud of me. I’m living my life trying to be that kind of person, so… I think that’s one success. That’s a very good story. I feel like your family is very close.

278 00:15:54,153 –> 00:16:02,027 What is your philosophy of life? I basically don’t plan ahead at all. I mean, I basically don’t think about the future. It’s something that I value quite a bit in my life. Of course, work-wise, scheduling and so on. Of course, there are things

I mean, in terms of my life in the larger framework of my other I don’t have a plan at all, and I don’t I’ve found all kinds of treasures so far from chance encounters. I make plans, but I’m bound by those plans

I really don’t like the feeling of being restricted in the present, so Maybe it’s one of my life philosophies not to make plans for the future. It’s like living in the now, the only now. It’s a very Zen way of thinking. It’s like going for 100%.

I’m really just going to work on the problem at hand right now, and then I’m going to go for it. I’m going to put all my energy only into what I have to do now.

I work for the people who are in front of me right now, and I work for the people who are in front of me right now. I’m just doing my job for the moment. Thank you very much for taking part in this interview today. Thank you very much.
