I don't think the procession was very well coordinated. In addition, they had some groups of horses ready to go into a full gallop. I was looking to see if one of them ended up in one of the open carriages!
Quite a few of the horses seemed to be on edge as they were travelling down the street. I wonder what they fed earlier. Perhaps, some blood work needs to be done. For the most part, I enjoy British pageantry and hope it never goes away. I am 50% British from both sides of my family, and I am proud of my heritage.

It's Kate's friggin hat. I've owned many Thoroughbreds and all of them would "bolter" at the visage of that chapeau. Royal's must be reminded from time-to-time that the Horse is as much a factor in Royal Pageantry as the Family. Tone it down a notch Katie
The cost of maintaining these amount of horses and their riders their attires, saddles , etc., must be huge. But the regalia of it all, is very entertaining and enjoyable. I love it, thank you for sharing.

These situations are practised over and over again . The skill of the guards horsemen/women is first class. At NO TIME was anyone in any danger. It did not involve the Prince and Princess of Wales carriage at any time. As always a fantastic show parade by our British military and mounted sections.

The title is highly misleading. The closed coach that the Prince and Princess of Wales were in had nothing to do with what happened. It was between the first and second open carriages carrying who knows who that were involved.

Just think of those who wish to abolish this and the monarchy. Then they can rewrite the narrative to fit them. This is why tourists come from all over the world to visit. Look at the streets filled with people and it being televised. I am pretty sure that local businesses are doing quite well because of this.
