About Pale Blue's CD jacket: A girl who looks like being in a dream, like she's in the wind, in the water. How was it created? 🌾 I drew it after I finished writing the music piece. I wonder if that would probably be the "moment when someone fell in love". The open pupil is a little psychedelic. It's like giddiness. There was kind of consciousness that I wanted to use the color. I feel that romantic love is waiting for that kind of disposition.
That kind of disposition? 🌾 Narcissism in the eyes, or such an experience that makes one's subjectivity messed up. I'm not saying that's all about. I thought that there might be such a disposition. When I express it in a picture, it is vivid to the extent that it is lurid. If it wasn't for that kind of thing, this music piece wouldn't be perfect.
How do you view a music piece (combined) with news footage of the day? 🌾 It is interesting.
Interesting? 🌾 Footage that is rooted in the life of the day is finally shown as a summary. I've never experienced my own song being played in that background before. That kind of consciousness is the reason why it was completed. I was thinking "Should I make a music video for that song?", but when I look at it, it would be fine just like that (without MV). [It implies that there will be no MV for Yume Utsutsu]

[When News Zero announced that Yume Utsutsu would become theme song started from January 4, Yonezu wrote on Twitter "…..I'm still working on it. I'm in trouble…"] Why did it take until the last minute? 🌾 It was very difficult to write lyrics of a song played in a news program; how it flows with feelings or thoughts, and how much I should put it out. People who listen to it often say that it's a gentle, comforting song that gives buoyant mood, but I have the consciousness that it's a song that is full of indignation. The difficulties caused by the novel coronavirus, which are still going on, were even greater last year than ever before. Among of the difficulties, it may be said that there are various claims and ideologies, but when I see such things becoming turbid, it is a negative emotion that inevitably rises. There was no help for that kind of thing and how should I put it into a pop song? That conflict was tremendous. I really thought I would miss the deadline (laughing). I'm sorry. Sorry. 💦
About the lyrics: "May the joy of being able to speak out continue to stay with you". 🌾 As for my consciousness, it's my old self, who couldn't do anything like a decent collective action. I can't make a voice or assert myself. I'm not doing anything that can keep anyone under control. I feel like I'm not allowed to live here. I have that kind of self-consciousness, and I often remember it. When I wrote the lyrics for pop song, when the novel coronavirus emerged last year, it was visualized. Everyone wears a mask and is not allowed to speak out. It is like a mutual surveillance society, and what I felt when I was a kid visibly appeared in the world. That was the moment when I immensely thought, "Gosh". In this day and age, it will be established as a universal pop song. There is no doubt that there was such an awareness.
One more thing, about the lyrics "See you tomorrow". At the end, when I was told "See you tomorrow," I thought that no matter what happened, there would be tomorrow. Why did you put this lyrics in? 🌾 After all, I think repetition between dream and reality is important. Tomorrow isn't always a good tomorrow and it's probably a terrible tomorrow, you know. A worthless, plain, and sordid tomorrow is about to begin. Life will not begin without accepting it. While preaching that the world in a dream is important, being locked up there is different thing. Then, everyone loses their place and has no choice but to cry. It's not fair to not present a mundane, sordid tomorrow. I think it's because I felt that way.
