「刑事モース〜オックスフォード事件簿〜」のモース役で、日本でも人気の高い英国俳優ショーン・エヴァンスが主演を務める、5年越しの構想で実現した本格スパイサスペンス・全4話が「WOWOWプレミア」枠にて日本初一挙放送。英国国内の治安維持を担当するMI5（英国保安局）に勤務するジョン・ヒューズ（エヴァンス）の、仕事と私生活においての危機が描かれる。
ジョンはテロの情報を提供したいというエフサン（ワジ・アリ）と待ち合わせるが、情報を聞く前にエフサンは何者かに殺されてしまう。単独行動を取っていたジョンは、携帯も個人名義のものだったため、上司のシモーン（ニキ・アムカ＝バード）から規定違反に問われ、希望退職を迫られる。調査は後任のメヘリーン（ザーラ・アーマディ）に引き継がれ、シモーンらはエフサンの死を麻薬絡みの事件として警察に委ねる方向に。だが、テロの可能性を捨て切れないジョンは、独自に情報収集を開始。そんな中、ジョンの妻クレア（ロモーラ・ガライ）は、いつも秘密を抱えている夫への疑念に駆られ、苛立っていた。
仕事、妻との関係、さらに自身の健康にも不安を抱えるジョンの葛藤を、エヴァンスはリアルに体現している。
見どころ1：スリリングで見応えのあるスパイドラマ
仕事柄、家族に対しても真実を話せず、いつも秘密と嘘ばかりのジョン。妻のクレアにカウンセリングに誘われても真剣に向き合わず、夫婦仲は悪化。仕事でも追い込まれてしまうジョンだが、自らの直感を信じて国際テロの脅威から人々を守ろうと奮闘する姿は見もの。スリリングで見応えのあるスパイドラマに仕上がっている。
見どころ2：「刑事モース〜」とはまた一味違うショーン・エヴァンスの一面が
シモーン役のアムカ＝バードは『ノック 終末の訪問者』、クレア役のガライは『未来を花束にして』等の映画でも活躍。メヘリーン役のアーマディは「ミステリー in パラダイス番外編 警部補グッドマンの事件簿」でおなじみだ。クレアやシモーンらとジョンとの絡みを演じるエヴァンスは、モースとはまた違った表情が魅力的。
