『ヴェスナ』は、1953年にユーゴスラビア時代に制作されたスロヴェニアの恋愛映画であり、スロヴェニア初のロマンティック・コメディとされています。チェコの映画監督フランティシェク・チャップが監督を務め、現在もスロヴェニア映画の名作の一つとして親しまれています。 物語は、教授の娘を通じて期末試験の問題を入手しようとする高校生グループを追いますが、彼らの計画は予期せず本物のラブストーリーへと発展していきます。 本プロジェクトの特長は、東京外国語大学の学生たちが映画の字幕をスロヴェニア語から日本語に翻訳し、このスロヴェニアの傑作を日本の観客にも親しみやすいものにした点にあります。 まずは『ヴェスナ』を鑑賞し、続いて主人公たちの物語が続く続編『5月を待たないで（原題：Ne čakaj na maj、1957年）』を上映します。続編の日本語字幕は現在、東京外国語大学の学生たちによって翻訳が進められています。
Vesna is a Slovenian romantic film from 1953, produced during the Yugoslav period, and is considered the first Slovenian romantic comedy. It was directed by the Czech director František Čap and remains one of the most beloved classics of Slovenian cinema.
The story follows a group of high school students who try to obtain the final exam questions through their professor’s daughter, but their plan unexpectedly turns into a genuine love story.
A special feature of our project is that the students translated the film’s subtitles from Slovenian into Japanese, making this Slovenian classic accessible to a Japanese audience.
We will first watch Vesna, followed by its sequel Don’t Wait for May Ne čakaj na maj, 1957), which continues the story of the main characters. The Japanese subtitles for the sequel are currently being translated by the students.
