  1. This stairway song was played to the point of BURNOUT! Joining the ranks of House of the Rising Sun, Free Bird and please reply with inclusions of OVERPLAY to help complete this list. You really can get too much of a good thing.

  2. I was starting high school in this era. It seems to me, there was a much greater variation in the artists of that time. Some were black, and some were even female! You mention Imagine which is a tremendous classic that no one can argue against. But, Marvin Gaye also did What’s Going On.

  3. so so much great music from this era, you concentrated on the Britts which is fine. I'm itching for more of the San Francisco sound. Crosby stills Nash and Young the greatful dead quicksilver, traffic , Santana, Buffalo Springfield, plus many many more

  4. i was only 9 in '71, still, the radio played jeremiah and american pie by '75 KLOS and the mighty met, KMET had already established that it was classic rock we were listening to whether it was made in '68 or '78, british or american, southern or bay area, it was an unbelievable time to be coming up late blooming getting my hippie on wore my sisters mcgovern '72 shirt to 6th grade and a bob seger tee into the 2000s

  5. That time I was 24 years old and I was enjoing those songs after so many deceds whenever I listened to those beautiful songs it drive me to those era feel me like young again.

  6. 21:00 MY GAUD! How I HATED "Maggie May"! And not because of the song or Stewart's voice. It was because the local stations played it 'into the ground'! I know that my memory must be flawed, but, it seemed like it played every…other…song!! Argh! 😱

  7. We would never had heard half of these bands. If FM was not growing in 71. Most of these songs go past the three minute AM restriction.
