ive been defending throw loops against you weak brained mongrels for years now
I like him just saying shit because he can.
I think one of the main issues with SF6 is how annoying characters are to play if they don't have tools to stop drive rush. JP, Ed, Mai all have tools to abuse and deal with driverush. But players who play Manon, Dhalsim, Lily, or Viper feel like they have a hard time checking drive rush. So why not switch to a character that can
Reminder when the producer said big update it's not just about balance patch. He's talking overall about the game update including the events they put in the game like the horror Collab etc
20:30 there is a lot of new juice here about the update upcoming and that it's quite big
1:55 that's actually a really cool idea for an event. Content it up too!
Japanese executives are so wack man. At least when western executives be crazy it’s cause they’re narcissistic and visibly on coke
I guess they must've been working on a patch for a while now but haven't decided to release it yet or are waiting after cap cup
With the lack of DLC there's like no chance we're going to get any direct confirmations of that because of that report that the company they contracted out to do a lot of DLC had a bunch of issues and then laid off a majority of their staff after getting that contract with Capcom. They likely have the standard 10 year NDA so we're not going to hear anything about it during SF6's lifetime.
At least this shows that they have been intending to make big updates and just want to do it right.
they say it "might be the biggest balance patch yet." None of their balance patches have been big … wth
5:29 Anybody pulling this 'in my day games didn't get updated' is telling on themselves, bc in the glory days of the arcades it was fully expected to get a sequel or major revision to all the big series every 1-2 years. Nobody expected to play 4 or 5 years of basically the same game- we knew things get stale if you don't shake it up mechanically.
When it comes to patching and balancing. It is a tight rope. I play CotW the balance was super bad for all of s1. For t8 s2 balance… lets move on. Ggst is all over the place at a point. I don't blame sf6 so give it a bit reserved with it. Sf6 by comparison, you can get some surprises character making it up tournaments. Can it be better? Sure. Should they talk about balance? Yes. But I think there need to be an understanding how weird balancing can be.
26:46 "this game is hard to monetize" yall have chun li and cammy in this game, i promise if you just make more costumes more money is going to come your way
Imma just use mai after I get the new skin for my mains, I’m ready to rally for change 😅
Very Sajam-like thumbnail
He’ll yeah Daigo knows who Tyson is! He fought Buster Douglas in Tokyo sometime in the early 90s
Wisdom of Daigo vs wisdom of shill
That thumbnail tho 😂
Bruh, I've been strugling with Marissa as Viper aswell
"Wow, this old man ays Apex on the internet and gets five fingers"😂
I was always under the impression that the avatar content DID sell well because it would be sold to a larger customer base. Costumes are for one character.
I bet they make a killing on avatar cosmetics
Why we talk about balance when they announce balance change with Alex release ?
I think as a Tekken player hearing "big update" makes me jump a bit. I still haven't gotten over it. I would hope and assume Capcom is just better at reading the room than Bandai but I don't have a ton of confidence. A lot of these companies seem hands on ears going "Uhhhh lalalalal nooo uhhh Japan loves the game look at the sales lalalalal" I'd like to wrong and I'm hoping I am.
I like the gap between updates, gives casual players a chance to pop in and out through out a year without having to relearn the game too much, but there should be a big shake up each season at least. Once a year seems real reasonable
Today I learnt that the once fast runner Diego stopped running due to Carl Lewis, and is now making five fingers streaming Apex to his 100k subs
The thumbnail game remains impeccable
Crazy to think that Daigo has so much aura in Japan that he can't converse with someone normally, crazy for a fgc individual to have this much motion
This game is a mess, grab loops are the best thing about it because you can bypass the mess which is Drive.
Please look forward to the big update as it releases over the next two years 🙇
Hey hey, let's not up-play Marisa now…
Also, reading between the lines, it sounds to me like they had a balance patch in progress and then realized that they'd need to make more changes and rescheduled. Like at first they didn't properly assess the scope of the changes they needed to do to get the game where they wanted it. Just speculating though.
One thing that really pisses me off when arguing with fgc heads is that they will never compare fighting games to other competitive games in terms of treatment. No other competitive game genre comes with a full price tag and still expects you to pay for new characters that come out, and no other competitive game forces you to wait months for new balance changes when something is broken. This is something exclusive to fighting games and the fgc for some reason have no problem with this.
I'm seeing two different thumbnails depending on where I'm seeing the video, but I have to say that the one with the medieval painting is leagues better than the "buff throw loops" variant.
Sajam's just being humble here. I'm sure people walk up to him for pictures every day.
I feel like the job listing for a lead battle designer is for SF7, Woshige might be looking to step back after 6 for a different role
9:00 I think it’s because the arcade scene in Japan. No one cares about fighting games in the US. At least under the age of 25. Most people below 35 probably didn’t even go to arcades that much.
Honestly, I'm fine with fighting games remaining as a pay 2 play titles. BUT there has to be content that matches the price. SF6 World Tour mode gets clowned by the competitive community, but it was a great decision to put that in. I even got around to playing it and finishing lately. It's great to have a mode you can play when you're sick of the meta. The only thing I think fighting games can't do moving forward is what Nen Impact did. Full price for a game with no meaningful single-player content. If all the game is going to have is competitive, then it should either go F2P or cap at $30. More than that and any chance of cultivating a new audience is obliterated.
There's a 9 year old on his iPad somewhere wondering "why it's fuck me?"
More Daigoat!
It feels like Capcom’s ESports Division has forgotten that it’s a marketing tool for the game. If the RnD/Dev team wants to drop a huge game/meta altering patch in December, who gives af that pros will have to adjust for the cup? Idet most pros care atp.
Nope, i will not forget.
THE ENTIRE FGC, begged for patches to be spaced out all far and were stoked. Although it's actually a retarded take.
Just like NY, you get what you vote for xD
Capcom is still not somehow seeing that they could still just buff some of other lower characters and that alone is a power card to play if they want to save major mechanical additions for later.
I don't know how you misunderstood what they said about the patch. They said they realized in December the patch scope was becoming more massive than intended. It does not mean the patch is in December. They realized something in December, while working on the patch. Working on a patch for many months is very common. They didn't say it was already close to being done at that time.
I saw u at the airport and asked for a picture. Motion
I think meaningful balance in SF6 is nearly impossible. The mechanics are so interconnected that significantly changing one system would probably break five other things, lol.
I swear they’ve been using the pro scene as an excuse because they have no clue how to significantly balance anything. It also kind of hints at why they’re trying to outsource devs..they seem lost themselves.
Both 太刀川 (SF2 player) and 立川 (SF6 player) are pronounced Tachi-Kawa (川 = Kawa = River) but 太刀 means Katana and 立 means Stand. That's why Daigo said 太刀川 is a cool name.
