小説「嵐が丘（Wuthering Heights）」を、マーゴット・ロビー×ジェイコブ・エロルディ主演で映画化した『嵐が丘』が2月27日(金）より全国公開される。この度、現地時間1月28日(水)に、アメリカ・ロサンゼルスのチャイニーズ・シアターにて『嵐が丘』ワールドプレミアが開催され、ロビーやエロルディらキャスト陣、そして監督のエメラルド・フェネルらが会場に登場した。

豪華キャスト陣、エメラルド・フェネル監督、音楽のチャーリーxcxが集結！1847年刊行の小説「嵐が丘（Wuthering Heights）」は、世界で最も知られた作品の一つとして、今日に至るまで多くの国で翻訳出版され数多く舞台化や映像化され、世界中の多くのクリエイターへ影響を与え続けている不朽の名作。今回の映画化では、マーゴット・ロビー(『バービー』)と、先日、『フランケンシュタイン』の怪物役で本年度アカデミー賞®助演男優賞への初ノミネートが発表されたジェイコブ・エロルディ(『フランケンシュタイン』)が主演を務め、ロビーは製作も兼任する。監督・脚本はデビュー作『プロミシング・ヤング・ウーマン』でアカデミー賞®脚本賞を受賞したエメラルド・フェネルが務めている。
ワールドプレミアの会場となったチャイニーズ・シアターには、劇中で印象的に使われる「赤」をあしらったプレキシガラスが敷き詰められたレッドカーペットが出現。約500人の熱狂的なファンやメディア、ドレスアップした各界のゲストたちが駆けつけた。

そして、ロビーとエロルディのコンビをはじめ、ホン・チャウ、シャザド・ラティフ、アリソン・オリヴァーら本作のキャスト陣、さらに監督のフェネルや、今作の音楽を手がけた世界的ポップアイコン、チャーリーxcxも登場すると、会場は熱気と興奮に包まれた。
なかでも圧倒的な注目を浴びたのは、シャネルの香水「N°5」のCMでの共演も話題を呼んだロビーとエロルディのコンビだ。ロビーは、繊細なレースをあしらったビスチェから、漆黒のベルベット、そして燃えるような赤へとドラマチックに変化する、圧巻のグラデーションドレスで登場。一方ジェイコブは、洗練されたオールブラックのフォーマルスーツを着こなし、その圧倒的な存在感を放った。
本作のプロデューサーにして主人公キャサリンを演じたロビーは、映画公開を待望する日本のファンに笑顔でコメント。 「こんにちは、日本のみなさん！この映画を楽しんでくれることを願っています。バレンタインデーにぴったりの映画です。ぜひ友達や恋人と一緒に、劇場に見に来てください！楽しんで！」 と、全米公開が2月13日、バレンタインデーを目前に控えていることに触れ、作品の魅力をアピールした。
劇中歌を含むすべての音楽を担当したチャーリーxcxは、フェネル監督の才能と手腕を大絶賛しながら、楽曲制作についてコメントした。 「この曲を含め、本作の楽曲は全てエメラルド・フェネル監督の脚本にインスピレーションを受けて作りました。彼女が紡ぐ脚本の言葉に従って、直感的に作りました。ただ彼女の作った道筋を辿っただけなんです」 。さらに、「日本のみなさんこんにちは。映画『嵐が丘』を楽しんでくれると嬉しいです。また近い将来日本に行ってみなさんに会えることを楽しみにしてます！」と、再来日を望むメッセージも寄せた。
