They were all preparing like for I guess certain players. He says, “I know I haven’t played very much yet, but I actually feel like I’ve been in pretty good shape. He said, “That’s how I’ve been feeling.” Even though or even when we were facing other teams, I just didn’t get to play. He said, “But this time I organically got a chance to play. Um, I just hadn’t gotten any wins yet. Or that being said, I haven’t got any wins yet. So, I’ve been feeling a bit badly in that sense. But once I got going, I think I played pretty well. Then he goes on to say, “I’ve never had any issue facing Chun Lee personally.” So it’s like, “I never really minded facing her. If anything, I thought my win rate against her was relatively high. He goes on to say that uh Mocha was the only Chun Lee that’s given him a hard time. He’s like he plays super aggressively. came by. So he he trained with quite a few Chun Lees in including Mo. He said he still gave me a really hard time. It was the day before SFL and I thought gee Mo really is tough. He said, “But I knew that wasn’t Goichi’s play style.” So he’s like, even though Mo was tough, I thought I’d do okay against Goichi’s play style. Okay. So, he was like, his confidence was a bit shaken after playing Mo, but he was like, “I actually made some discoveries later on that night, like 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning, right before SFL.” He was like, “Okay, once he got that, I guess he got some confidence back.” And he was like, “Oh, okay. I’ve got this. then right here. So he’s like I guess you know after with Goichi he said Mo came back after that and he held his own against him. So he was like okay I got more of a handle on this. Even if Goici did play offensive I knew what to do. and if you play defense, well then I could just play how I already planned. So he said at the very last minute I finally found my confidence. Isn’t that something? Even Daigo, that just goes to show you no matter what level, no matter what goat, no matter who the legend is, you still have to fight to find that damn confidence. He was like, “I didn’t find the confidence till like 3:00 or 4 in the morning.” All right, so there you have it. The goat is back. How we feeling? Looks like Daigo is not playing around. He was like, “I actually feel like I’ve been in good shape and I’ve been studying.” This dude did hell of work to go up against Goichi and he got it done. We’ve been hearing since forever that Daigo was washed. He needs to hang it up. On the other hand, people are like, “He’s the goat. I want to see him stick around till he’s 70 years old. Oh, Daigo would be great. Would be dope as hell.” while others are like, “Nah, he’s too inconsistent.” Yes, he’s a legend, but it’s obvious he’s just not up to par with these young Bucks or like he used to be. I don’t know. But it definitely looks like he has something to prove, right? When he made that statement, I know Mena challenged him for the first to 10. They they still got to run that. But that’s part of the reason why he said, “I’m going to stop streaming and focusing.” It almost seemed like he had something to prove or at least like he felt he thought he did like to himself competitively like, “Yo, I still got it.” You know what did stand out and I could be reaching with this. If y’all remember that movie Little Big League, there was a movie where this little kid inherited uh some baseball team. I can’t remember the exact baseball team from his grandpa that passed away. So, you got this little kid managing this major league baseball team. They said, “You have to fire your favorite player.” He was like, “I don’t want to fire him.” And they’re like, “He can’t even get on base. He gets no hits. You have to fire him.” So, finally during one game, his favorite player gets a base hit. and he’s cheering and he’s like, “Yes, you see he still gots it.” And then the manager looks at him and says, “Kid, if you’re this happy over him just getting a simple base hit, don’t you think something’s wrong?” And I thought about that as Daigo won this match. I got so excited. I got so amped. I was like, “Oh, it’s shocking. It’s amazing. He still got it.” But even though it was Goichi, it was still just one win. And if we’re at the point where we’re getting this excited over one win of Daigo, could that be said the same, you know, could that be looked at the same way? Meaning that his wins are so rare nowadays that we get excited for any little thing that we can grasp. And that is in no way me talking [ __ ] cuz I know hands down Daigo is my all-time favorite player. I’m just saying like it is pretty inconsistent. But he himself saying I haven’t got a chance to play that much in SFL I guess so far, but I’ve actually been feeling in pretty good shape. So, I would like to see him get more opportunities cuz let’s be real, we’re in a beautiful reality here. We play video games. You can compete in your 40s, in your 50s if you got that talent and dedication. So, it’s not impossible. It’s not impossible by any means. It’s just been super inconsistent. And I would love to see Daigo just get more opportunities and maybe obviously not return to his peak, but just remind everybody who the hell he is. Or maybe that’s just me talking out my ass cuz let’s be real, he doesn’t have to remind anybody. It’s Daigo. And honestly for me, whether I’m making a big deal about him winning one match or winning 10 matches or bodying Mena in the first to 10. Oo, I can’t wait for that.
