2025年10月27日、丸の内ピカデリーにて、第38回東京国際映画祭のオープニング作品として上映される映画『てっぺんの向こうにあなたがいる』の舞台挨拶が行われ、主演の吉永小百合（多部純子役）、のん（多部純子・青年期役）、そして阪本順治監督が登壇した。
本作は、女性として世界で初めてエベレスト登頂に成功した登山家・田部井淳子の実話をもとに、その勇壮な生涯を壮大なスケールで描く冒険譚。映画は、田部井淳子の世界初女性エベレスト登頂という偉業から50周年となる2025年10月31日（金）に全国公開。

今日は東京国際映画祭の初日、オープニング作品であるこの映画をご覧くださり、本当にありがとうございます。何よりも早く皆様に見ていただきたいという思いがありますが、しばらくの間、この映画のエピソードなどを監督やのんさんとご一緒に、皆さんにちょっとお話ししたいと思っております。どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。
Thank you very much for joining us today on the opening day of the Tokyo International Film Festival, and for watching this film, which has been selected as the opening work.
We have truly been eager for all of you to see it as soon as possible.
Before that, however, we’d like to spend a little time sharing some stories and behind-the-scenes episodes about the film together with the director and Non-san.

吉永さん演じる多部純子さんの青年期を演じましたのんです。今日はこうやってオープニングに選ばれた映画の、ご挨拶ということで、吉永さん、監督とこの場に立てるのが本当に嬉しいです。今日はどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。
I am very honored and happy to be on the same stage with Yoshinaga and Sakamoto, and also for the film which was chosen for the opening film for the international film festival, and this is about Tabei Junko who made the first ascent to Everest.

ありがとうございます。監督の阪本です。上映前なので、同じことしか言えないのですが、昨今、スマホとかパソコンで映画を見られる方が多い中、作り手としては非常に辛いものがあります。
今日、皆さんに大きなスクリーンと、私たちが計算した音響設備で、ぜひこの映画を堪能してください。本日はありがとうございます。
Hello, I’m Sakamoto. Before the screening, I always say that these days people often watch movies on mobile, personal computer, and as a filmmaker, it’s very tough to see those people. So today I’m very happy that we can show you this film on the big screen, with the sound design we calculated, and I really hope you enjoy it on the big screen.

製作エピソードと役作りについて（Production Episodes and Role Preparation）
‐女性初のエベレスト登頂という偉業を成し遂げた田部井淳子さんの人生を元に描かれた本作ですが、どのような思いで吉永さんは演じられましたか？
(To Ms. Sayuri Yoshinaga)This work is based on the life of Junko Tabei, who achieved the feat of being the first woman to climb Mount Everest. What thoughts did you put into playing this role, Ms. Yoshinaga?
吉永小百合
私は2012年に（田部井）淳子さんにお目にかかっているんですね。もう本当に明るくて積極的で、生き生きとしていらっしゃる彼女の大ファンになりました。ですから、このような役がやれるということもとても幸せなことです。
そして、20代の頃は私も山が大好きで、山に結構登っていたんです。ですから、今回の撮影は、皆さん「大変だったんでしょう？」とおっしゃるんですけれど、なんか楽しく富士山にも他の山にも登れたり、また歩くことができて、とても幸せな時間でした。
I used to enjoy the mountains in my youth, and this time we climbed the mountains to shoot this film, and everybody was asking me, “Wasn’t it hard?” Actually, I did enjoy climbing the mountains and walking around the high places, so it was a very happy time for me.
‐のんさんは吉永さんが演じていらっしゃる純子の青年期ですので、撮影中は共演はないと思いますが、撮影中の印象に残っているエピソードがあれば教えてください。
(To Ms. Non) Since you played the younger period of Junko Tabe, the character played by Ms. Yoshinaga, I believe you didn’t have any scenes together during filming. Could you please share any memorable episodes that stood out to you during the shoot?
のん
そうですね。共演シーンはなかったんですが、私は撮影のクランクアップの日に、富山で撮影があったんです。駅からもすごく離れていて、行きづらい場所だったんですけど、サプライズで吉永さんが現場にお一人で駆けつけてくださったんです。
That’s right. Although we didn’t have any scenes together, I was filming in Toyama on the final day, the wrap-up day, of the shoot. It was quite far from the station and a very difficult place to access, but Ms. Yoshinaga came rushing to the set all by herself as a surprise.”
‐富山の山での撮影を終えられた後、吉永さんがサプライズで来てくれた時の、現場の皆さんの様子はいかがでしたか？
(To Ms. Non) After finishing the shoot on the mountain in Toyama, how did everyone on set react when Ms. Yoshinaga came to visit as a surprise?

富山の山での撮影を終えて、みんな疲れていたんですけど、吉永さんが来てくれたというので、もう本当に報われた気持ちになって、喜びで溢れていた印象が残っています。
We had just finished shooting on the mountain in Toyama, and everyone was exhausted. But when Ms. Yoshinaga arrived, we all truly felt rewarded for our hard work, and I remember the set simply overflowing with joy.
‐吉永さん、お一人で遠くまで駆けつけられたとのことですが、大変な道のりだったのではないでしょうか？
(To Ms. Yoshinaga) Ms. Yoshinaga, you mentioned you rushed to the location alone, which sounds like it must have been a difficult journey?
吉永小百合
ええ、あの、新幹線に乗って富山の駅に行って、そこからホテルに行って「どこで撮影しているか」聞いたんですよね。でも分からないって言って。プロデューサーの方にお電話したら、そこからまた1時間ぐらいかかるって言われたんですけど、「帰りなさい」というような（強い言葉ではないですが）雰囲気でした。それでもどうしてもなんか皆さんにお疲れ様を言いたくって、1時間ぐらい走って駆けつけることができました。
I did go alone, and I took the Shinkansen, I got off at the station, and I went to the hotel and asked them where they were shooting, and they didn’t know. I called up the producer where they were shooting, and then the producer said, “Well, it’s very far, it’s gonna take one hour, so maybe you wouldn’t go there,” in a very nice way. But I really wanted to go and see them and congratulate the wrapping of the film. I managed to drive for about an hour to get there.
‐阪本監督に、吉永さんとのんさんという同一人物を演じられることで、役作りについてお二人にお話しになったことはありますか？
(To Director Sakamoto) Director Sakamoto, since Ms. Yoshinaga and Ms. Non played the same character, did you discuss any specific guidance with both of them regarding their approach to the role?
阪本順治監督
モデルとなった淳子さんの書物をたくさん読んだり、ドキュメンタリーや残された映像も見て、私が思う多部純子のキャラクターを整理し、過剰書きにして、のんさんにお渡ししたり、吉永さんに口頭でお伝えしたりしました。
あるいは、のんさんには「吉永さんのデビュー当時の映画を見てください」ということと、「吉永さんの撮影現場に来て、吉永さんがどのように多部純子を演じているかを間近で見てください」ということをお願いしました。そうすることで、なんとかお二人が一本の線につながるようにしてもらいました。
I read a lot of books by Tabei Junko, and also I watched documentaries or TV documentaries and other footage, and also I wanted to get my version of Tabei Junko’s character, or in this film called Taibei Junko. So, I asked Non to read the books, and I also asked Non to watch Yoshinaga’s films from when she debuted. And also, I asked Non to come to Yoshinaga’s set and see how Yoshinaga was acting Tabei Junko in close proximity. By doing that, I was trying to align the two actors into one person, one character.
レッドカーペットの感想（Red Carpet Impressions）
‐本作がオープニング作品ということで、本日レッドカーペットを歩いていただきましたが、映画ファンの声援もすごかったと思います。吉永さん、レッドカーペットはいかがでしたか？
(To Ms. Yoshinaga) Since this work is the opening film, you walked the red carpet today, and I imagine the cheering from the film fans was immense. Ms. Yoshinaga, how was the red carpet experience?
吉永小百合
日本でレッドカーペットを歩くのはほとんど初めてだったんですね。ですからもうなんかワクワクしましたし、たくさんの方が映画というものに興味を持って応援してくださっているな、ということを実感しました。
I think this is the first time for me to walk on the red carpet in Japan, so I was excited. I realized that so many people were interested in films and were cheering us on.
‐東京国際映画祭のレッドカーペットも大変お久しぶりだったとお話しされていましたよね？
(To Ms. Yoshinaga) You also mentioned that it had been a very long time since you walked the red carpet at the Tokyo International Film Festival, didn’t you?
吉永小百合
そうですね。モントリオールで阿部寛さんと二人で歩いたんですけれども、もう10何年前ですかね。その時も楽しかったんですけど、やっぱり日本の皆さんがいらっしゃる今日はまた格別でした。
Yes, more than 10 years ago I did walk on the red carpet in Montreal with Abe Hiroshi, but today it was in Japan and surrounded by the Japanese people, which was very special for me.
‐のんさんはレッドカーペットはいかがでしたか？
(To Ms. Non) Ms. Non, how was the red carpet experience for you?

本当に嬉しかったですね。もう吉永さんと阪本監督と一緒に3人で歩けたっていうのが本当に嬉しくて、幸せでいっぱいです。
I was very, very happy being able to walk on the red carpet alongside with Yoshinaga and Sakamoto. That itself made me very happy and I was very satisfied.
‐阪本監督はレッドカーペットを歩かれていかがでしたか？
(To Director Sakamoto) Director Sakamoto, what was your impression of walking the red carpet?
阪本順治監督
監督になって37年で、まさか吉永さんと一緒にレッドカーペットを歩くとは思っていませんでした。それに加えてのんさんと。あと1km長くてもよかったかなと（笑）。前のファンの方々を非常に身近に感じられて、「この仕事に誇りを持っていいんだな」と思いました。
I have been a filmmaker for 37 years, and I never expected that I would be walking on the red carpet with Yoshinaga. And on top of that, with Non. I thought maybe it could have been 1 kilometer longer. I felt very close to the fans in front of me, and I realized that I can be proud of this job.
世界への発信とメッセージ（Global Outreach and Messaging）
‐東京国際映画祭という、海外の記者の方やお客様も見られる場所で、まさに世界の偉人である田部井淳子さんの作品がここでかかります。世界にこの作品が届くということを監督はどんな風に感じていらっしゃいますか？
(To Director Sakamoto) The film about Junko Tabei, a true global figure, is being screened here at the Tokyo International Film Festival, a place where overseas journalists and guests are present. How do you feel about this film reaching a global audience?
阪本順治監督
作る時は、海外で見ていただくということよりも、まず国内でお客様に感動していただくことが優先されます。
ですが、この間、スペインのサンセバスティアン映画祭に行って、この映画の上映で、ゲルリンデさんというオーストリアで非常に著名な登山家の方と会った時に、ゲルリンデさんが「去年、仲間と登ったんだけど、その仲間と言ってたんですよ、『誰か田部井淳子さんの映画を撮ってくれないかしら』って。それがもうできたっていうのは、とっても驚きでした」という風におっしゃってくれて。
やっぱり（田部井）淳子さんは、特に世界中の山を制覇された方なんで、世界に名を轟かせ、いろんな国に田部井さんのファンの方々がいらっしゃるんだな、というのを実感しました。
When I was making the film, I wasn’t thinking too much of the overseas audiences. I was making it more thinking about Japanese fans, Japanese audience, so that they could be moved by this film. But actually, the other day I went to the San Sebastián film festival in Spain. There I met Gerlinde, a very famous Austrian mountaineer. Gerlinde said, “Last year, I was climbing with my friends, and we were saying, ‘I wish someone would make a film about Tabei Junko.’ I was surprised to see the film is already here!” And then I realized that Tabei Junko is a world-famous climber, really, that she conquered all the high mountains in the world, and she has fans all over the world.
‐吉永さんの帯には、田部井さんの写真が飾ってありますね。
(To Ms. Yoshinaga) Ms. Yoshinaga, you have a photo of Ms. Tabei displayed on your obi (kimono sash)?
吉永小百合
はい。（着物の帯の写真の）表は田部井さんで、裏は田部井さんが確かお撮りになった写真だと思うんですけれど、登られた当初に。それを許可をいただいて、帯に作ることができました。
おかげで、田部井さんも一緒にこのオープニングの上映に立ち合っていただくことができました。
Yes. The obi (kimono sash) has a photo of Ms. Tabei on the front, and on the reverse is a picture I believe Ms. Tabei took herself shortly after her initial ascent [of Everest]. We received permission to have it made into this obi. Thanks to this, Ms. Tabei is also able to attend this opening screening with us today.

《STORY》

しかしその世界中を驚かせた輝かしい偉業は純子に、その友人や家族たちに光を与えると共に深い影も落とした。
