【49歳女ぼっち旅・高崎】日本一のビジネスホテルに泊まってみた|ホテルココ・グラン高崎
Hello! This is Ai from Midochare TV. Our setting for this episode is Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture. Located about an hour by Shinkansen from Tokyo, it’s a vibrant city boasting the largest population in Gunma Prefecture. It ‘s also a key railway hub, serving the Shinkansen, four JR lines, and the Joetsu Line. Due to its hustle and bustle, Takasaki is sometimes mistaken for the prefectural capital. Speaking of Takasaki, the Takasaki Daruma dolls are famous for their performances. Gunma Prefecture is also one of Japan’s leading wheat-producing regions, making it a beloved pasta town. And, as you’d expect, what caught my eye was the souvenir shop selling frozen pasta from a famous Italian restaurant. It’s great to be able to enjoy the flavors of that restaurant at home with just a microwave. And the main purpose of this trip, of course, is a hotel. There’s a hotel I’ve always wanted to stay at in this town. Before checking in, I’d like to take a stroll around Takasaki to get a feel for what it’s like. So, let’s begin our journey. Exiting Takasaki Station, you’ll find yourself separated into the west and east exits. First, let’s take a stroll from the west exit. Yes. Takasaki Daruma dolls welcome us. There are both red and white ones. They’re impressive. Now, let’s go outside. Yes. The image shows the Monterey shopping mall in the station building. The west exit is dominated by commercial facilities convenient for shopping. On the right, you can see the OPA shopping mall, and behind it, the Takashimaya department store. Going straight down this road leads to Takasaki City Hall, famous for its observation lobby. I climbed it the next day and experienced the spectacular view, so I’ll introduce it again later. Now, let’s move on to the east exit. The first thing you’ll notice upon exiting the east exit is Yamada Denki Rabi. I didn’t know Yamada Denki’s headquarters was in Takasaki. Apparently , this building houses the headquarters of Yamada Holdings Co., Ltd. Oh, we’re already going next. So, going straight out the east exit, you’ll find the Takasaki Arts Theater. Unlike the West Exit, this area has a more relaxed atmosphere than a shopping mall. Let’s follow the pedestrian deck to the Art Theater. It ‘s about a seven-minute walk from the station to the Art Theater. It says 450 meters, but this pedestrian deck goes on and on. It’s long, isn’t it? I thought it was amazing. As I walked, I noticed a sign for Spaghetti Harappa, which caught my eye. Wanting a bite, I continued walking. After about seven minutes of walking, I arrived at the Art Theater. Takasaki Art Theater is a cultural facility representing Gunma Prefecture, opened in September 2019. It features a large theater with over 2,000 seats, a flexible studio theater, and Gunma Prefecture’s first full-scale music hall. It’s a space that can be used for a wide range of purposes, from plays and concerts to music practice and creative activities. It’s a popular hub for disseminating Takasaki’s new culture. That was a brief stroll around Takasaki Station. Thank you for listening. So, this is the main topic of this article, the hotel I wanted to stay at: Hotel Coco Grand Takasaki. A famous hotel critic praised this hotel as the best business hotel in Japan. Now that I’ve checked in, let’s go into my room for the night. Room 302. Let’s open it. First, the overall atmosphere of the room is like this. It’s lovely. All around. Let’s take a look at the view. Yes. It has a view of the fitness club. First of all, the desk is really spacious. And there’s a mirror right in front of you. There’s a large TV on the wall. There are all sorts of things on the desk. They even provide water and other items. They even provide snacks, which is rare for a business hotel. It’s appreciated. There’s water, too. Oh, I forgot. I’ll open the drawer. It’s kind of nice. There’s stationery inside too. I won’t use it, but I’m happy to see these thoughtful touches. Yes. The mugs and glasses are also stylish. It’s amazing. At the bottom, there’s an electric kettle and an ice container. And, what’s more, there’s a massage chair. The room also has a trouser press, which is nice. There’s even a microwave in the room! That’s unusual. There’s a safe underneath . And there’s a cool refrigerator. The bed is fluffy and Kafka-esque. It’s stylish. Let’s spread out the nightwear. Yes, it’s pajama-style. It’s quite long, so I think a woman could easily wear just this. There’s an outlet and a light control by the bedside. Yes, there’s an alarm clock. In this digital age, an analog alarm clock is a comfort. I thought the pillow looked a little pricey, but there was a low-profile memory foam pillow on the shelf. It’s low, so I think you’ll get a good night’s sleep. For those who don’t like expensive pillows, there are options like this. Amenities were available at the front desk, and there were a variety to choose from. They even had bath salts, which was nice. Now, let’s take a look at the restroom. It’s a clean restroom and bathroom. The hair dryer is Panasonic Ionity. The hand soap is simple but stylish. Here are the bath towels. The bathtub is nice, but this hotel has a large public bath, so I probably won’t use it. The shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are like this. That concludes the room tour. Next, let’s take a look at the shared areas. This is the lobby in front of the front desk. The water design is beautiful, making it feel like a resort. The atmosphere is completely different during the day and at night. It’s a lobby that makes you want to linger. Next to the lobby, there was a free drink area offering hot coffee, tea, and other beverages. There was a wide selection. Vending machines and ice machines for soft drinks and alcohol were located on the 3rd and 6th floors. The prices for alcohol and soft drinks were also quite reasonable. I went outside. I’d like to find a place for a drink. Opa (a fashion building under the AEON Group) is beautiful. Takasaki is very beautiful at night. I’ve been looking for a place to get something light to drink, so I’ll tell you what I found first. There were plenty of places serving hearty food like pasta, ramen, and yakiniku, but the only place I could think of where I could have a light drink with some snacks was an izakaya. But I wasn’t in the mood for an izakaya today, so I ended up at Pronto’s coffee shop and bar. They had Takasaki’s local grilled offal, and it had exactly the casual atmosphere I was looking for. I thought it would be nice to have a drink with some light snacks, so I decided to go in. And it was the right decision. It was cozy. The seats were spacious, the ceiling was high, and it felt open. They also have a 90-minute all-you-can-drink option, but since I was alone, I’ll just order a la carte today. Yes. They have grilled offal. So, my beer and appetizer arrived. Cheers. I’d walked a lot today, so this was delicious ♡ Yes. The first dish was okra marinated in dashi for 390 yen. Let’s get started. I love okra. The soup is infused with dashi and is delicious. There are plenty of snacks that are just what I was looking for, so I was glad I came to this restaurant. Next up is grilled chicken skirt steak with black spices. I eat it with a squeeze of lemon. The amount is just right. I would definitely pair this with a highball. So, after a day of hard work, I’m happy that it has lemon in it. It’s refreshing. Let’s get started on the chicken skirt steak. This was even more delicious than I imagined. Actually, I was thinking of eating grilled offal since I’d come all the way to Takasaki, but I figured the portion would be too much for one person, judging by the price. Actually, I’d already decided that when I came to Takasaki, I’d want to have a Daruma bento and drink in my room, so I bought one when I checked in. So, instead of a carbohydrate-heavy dinner like pasta, I was looking for a place where I could have a drink and enjoy a few small side dishes. So, I’m thinking about finishing off my night with a Daruma bento in my room. By the way, isn’t Kissa Kaba short for “Coffee Shop Bar”? It’s a nice name. I didn’t know Pronto had a coffee shop bar, but I wonder if they have one in Tokyo too. There was so much I wanted to eat that I’m thinking about having a Kissa Kaba next time. Considering the bento, I shouldn’t eat so much here, but I really wanted this, so I ordered it. Dad’s shumai. Boom! Yes. I also ordered a refill on the highball. Another refill, yes! And then, I’ll have some Dad’s shumai. I was a little embarrassed when I ordered this, because I always say “Dad’s shumai.” Well, I guess I’m a dad, after all. These shumai were incredibly fluffy and delicious. They look big, but they’re so fluffy inside that I devoured them all in one go. I drank them all up, thank you for the meal. Yes. It was 3,201 yen. They also have a 90-minute all-you-can-drink plan for 950 yen. It’s great if you’re with friends. Okay, I’m back in my room. The cafe has a free drink corner in the lobby until 10pm, so I got some iced tea. Um, I want to finish off my meal… I want a Daruma bento. Before that, this hotel’s main attraction is the large public bath, so I’ll go take a bath. By the way, I noticed I didn’t have my slippers, so I asked, and there they were, on the other side of the microwave, behind a door. Oh, so that’s how it works. So stylish. There’s also an amazing iron. The large public bath on the 10th floor isn’t a hot spring, but you can enjoy an open-air carbonated spring bath, which was very refreshing. The men’s bath has a dry sauna with loyly, and the women’s side has a bedrock bath. Okay, I just got out of the bath. And there’s ice cream! So happy. Let’s eat. I ‘m still going to eat, but I’ll take a quick break. Yes. Cool down. Okay. Now it’s time for a highball at the hotel. Highball time. I’m tired again today♪ Not good. It’s already 10 o’clock, and I’m full, but I’ll have a little something. Because the expiration date has passed, and tomorrow’s breakfast is included. Hmm, it’s 10:30. Well, I’ll open it. This is the first time I’ve seen a Daruma bento, and it’s amazing! It’s looking. It’s looking at me. It was exactly like this. Apparently this can be used as a piggy bank. Daruma. Hello. I’m a Daruma. Hahaha. Yes. Now, let’s open the famous Takasaki Daruma bento♪ Yes, this is the Daruma bento. It looks incredibly healthy. Okay, let’s have the Daruma bento. As expected. Amazing. As you’d expect from Gunma Prefecture, it’s filled with konjac. Dama bento. It’s cute, so I’ll start with the pink konjac. Mmm. It has a strong flavor. Yeah. It’s really delicious. Next up. What shall we eat? Um, where should I start? Well, shiitake mushrooms. They’re good for you. I’ll have shiitake mushrooms. Hmm. Yeah. They’re sweet, but they also have a strong broth flavor. So, what shall I eat next? I’ll have burdock. If I eat each one, it’ll probably be morning. Hmm. Hmm? Oh?! It’s astringent. I need to drink this. I’ll have some wild vegetables. Shall I have some bamboo shoots? Wait a minute. If I just eat these side dishes, there’ll be leftover rice, so I’ll have some rice too. Yes. Eh? Is it some kind of seasoned rice? It has a subtle, delicious flavor. Takasaki is also famous for its chicken. Let’s eat. After that, I ate steadily and finished it all. Yes. I ate it all. It’s almost 11pm. Thank you for the meal. My first impression of the Daruma bento was that the rice was delicious. I later found out that the rice is cooked with soy sauce, resulting in a fragrant rice. The bento was packed with the bounty of nature and the deliciousness of the ingredients, centered around the bounty of the mountains of Gunma Prefecture. I now understand why it’s so popular. Thank you for the meal. So, good night. Good morning. It’s morning. It’s almost 6:25am. This morning’s treat is Gunma Prefecture’s famous sweet, “Mount Akagi’s Moon Shape.” It looks like a perfectly round moon. Let’s break it open. It’s filled with custard cream ♡ It tastes even better when chilled. It’s almost like the Hagi no Tsuki. It was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. To wake up, I headed to the large public bath. This is the 10th floor, where the large public bath is located. The 10th floor also has a smoking area and a coin laundry. There are also popsicles here. Yesterday, they were peach flavors, but there are many other flavors. After getting out of the bath, I headed to the breakfast area. Now, let’s take a look at the breakfast buffet lineup. This is the breakfast I brought with me. Let’s eat. I started with a green smoothie. I felt like I’d done something healthy for the morning. Then, I started with the customary salad. The fresh vegetables were crunchy and delicious. This hotel has high ceilings and an open restaurant, so you can start your breakfast feeling refreshed. I also had mackerel to get some quality protein. And this is natto with shiso leaves. It’s unusual, isn’t it? It had a very refreshing taste. And then there’s my favorite hotel curry. It’s always nice when a hotel has curry for breakfast. And to finish off, dessert. I’m the kind of girl who eats croissants for dessert. Everything was delicious, and it was a truly wonderful time. Thank you for the meal. It’s almost time to check out. I’m going to announce the price of a one-night stay, including meals, at Coco Grand Takasaki, which Japan’s leading hotel critic, Nobuaki Takizawa, called “Japan’s No. 1 Business Hotel.” It was 13,535 yen. I think this price is a great deal for a hotel with such excellent facilities, hospitality, and expert endorsements . Above all, I felt truly pampered. Thank you for your hospitality. Pecorino. The video continues a little further. After checking out, I headed to the observation deck on the 21st floor of Takasaki City Hall. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the station. As I walked, I felt the nature all around, so the distance didn’t even seem long. Now that we’ve arrived, let’s get going. Apparently , there’s also a restaurant on the 21st floor where the observation deck is located. I didn’t stop by the restaurant this time, but it looks like a pretty nice restaurant. Incidentally, admission to this observation deck is free. Amazing, isn’t it? Yes. What do you think? The view is spectacular. Since it’s free, I thought this was the only thing there was, but I was surprised to find a huge observation deck at the back! I’ll show you around later. Yes, this is probably the main observation deck. There’s some nice art, too. This is the observation lobby on the 21st floor of Takasaki City Hall, approximately 90 meters above ground. From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Takasaki city, as well as Gunma Prefecture’s iconic Mount Akagi, Mount Haruna, and Mount Myogi. Gazing at the magnificent view from the observation room, even the small worries of everyday life seem insignificant. So, thank you for watching until the end. Ai-San, another great video. The hotel you stayed is very nice. I personally liked the water flowing in the lobby. Very tranquil. Chicken steak flank with squeezed lemon looks so delicious. Thank you, Ai-San. Like the highlight of the hotel and area. Your beauty shines through all your videos. You find good places to visit. May I request that you share a good cafe in Japan. Thank you again, Ai-San.
