「The Other Side of Love」は元々中谷美紀さんに提供される予定で作られ、坂本龍一さんが、もっと場慣れしていない謎めいた雰囲気のアーティストが望ましいと考え、歌い手を探していた時に、ニューヨークの自宅にいた娘の美雨に歌わせてみたところ、イメージにぴったりだったため起用され、「The Other Side of Love」という曲で発表されました。
私はこちらの曲の方が馴染みがあるため、今回はこちらで歌わせていただきました。
後に中谷美紀さんのボーカルでもレコーディングされリリースされ、それが「砂の果実」となります。
