H&M TRY ON HAUL for 60+ | Is This My Best Value Collection Yet?

[Music] We’ve come a long way. I have something to say. We have Hi everyone. Welcome back to my channel. Um, a grateful life. My name is Carolyn. If you’re new here, thank you for joining us. And if you’re a subscriber, then thank you for coming back and joining us here, too. Thank you. Um, today is an H&M haul and yeah, there was lots to choose from in H&M which made it a little bit easier. Um, hadn’t been in there for a while. So, the last one was quite successful, so I thought I’d try it again. And yeah, they’ve got lots of new things in despite the sale being on, still on. Um, so yeah, I’ll show you all of that and we’ll chat at the end if that’s okay. Outfit number one. This is a little sailor outfit. And we have got the top is $12.99. I’ve got it on in a medium, but it is pretty snug. So, I think I would probably change that and get get a large. Um I mean, it is a short length anyway, but um it’s around here that it’s a bit escaping a little bit. So other than that, it’s quite a good fit. But yeah, and the trousers, oh, and it’s polyester mix. Uh, the trousers are 19.99 and they’re 53% cotton actually and 44% polyester and some elastain. It gives you a little stretch, but they’re like um well, we’ll do a closeup on them, but they’re like a pull on trouser with the thick waistband there. So, they’re really comfortable. Um something that you could wear anywhere really or if you were working, these would be absolutely ideal. Um so comfy and they don’t crease up or anything. So, um yeah, I really like these. I would I would keep these. That’s my style that with the buttons. I really like that. But actually, you know, the buttons are funny because they don’t go all the way through. I don’t know. There’s no pockets of any sort, but we’ll let that go. For 1999, these are a really good buy. And they’ve got a sort of slight um pattern to the the weave, which makes doesn’t make them look sort of like a jersey trouser or anything. So, they’re quite long on me, but I’ve got some shoes on from Primark. Um, these are 16.99. And yeah, these are so comfortable actually. But they give me just a little bit of height with these trousers. Um, I really like those actually. Don’t know if you can. Yeah, I think you can adjust them. So, um, yeah. So, I feel a bit tight around here. That’s just me. So, yeah, that’s that outfit. I really like this. Um, feel a little bit more uh put together in this outfit. Everything like fits well and yeah, very very comfortable. Everything’s comfortable. I think it’s really a nice outfit. The whole thing. Yeah. Thank you. Yeah. And the prices are great as well, aren’t they? Yeah. It’s fantastic. Yeah. $12.99.99, isn’t it? And if you wanted to a little bag, I’ve got this, but I’ve had this for ages, but this is a Primark phone bag really. But that’s the sort of thing I would wear with it if I was going for a lightweight look. Obviously, if I needed more than my phone, I’d have to use a bigger bag. But yeah, that’s my s for shopping or something. So that’s outfit number one. Outfit number two is this black dress which is probably a good one for the beach. I think just like to throw over um bikini or something. It’s a bit shapeless on me like this, but I think I would wear it at the beach. Um, it’s 100% cotton and it is 19.99. I’ve got it on in a medium. This does adjust, but only in sections where it’s sewn there. You don’t be able to adjust it there. It has got these cute um that these cute little endings for the Stay there a minute. I’ll just Come in a bit closer. That’s it. It’s a little palm tree, I think. Cute, wouldn’t they? I think it’d be fine. Like, you could dress it up for the evening as well, I guess. So, um, sleeves are comfortable. It’s 100% cotton, so it would be fairly cool. I think maybe you could put belt around it. Yeah, you could probably do that. Let me just go into my stock room. My stock room is here. Let’s go for the ever present leopard print and do it like that. See what that looks like. So I think It’s a weird one. Some of these are so old they’re falling apart on the one that would be a little bit nicer maybe for the evening. Um, yeah, it gives you a bit more shape. I don’t do well with like shapeless things really. I’m not tall and willowy enough to carry it off. So, I think that could work. But yeah, I it’s not for me, but handy little dress, I think. What about the shoes, babe? Oh, the shoes are from um Primark. Again, I just grabbed a load that would go with these outfits. These are eight pound, these ones from Primark. So, they’re just flat. Very comfortable, actually. We do make them with spongier bottoms now, which I do like a spongier bottom, don’t we? And that’s what you got. That’s what you said. So, yeah, I’ll show you the next one because the the next one is a kind of beachy dress as well, but it unfortunately it comes just above my knees. So, if you don’t like that kind of thing, look away now. Outfit number three. This is another sort of beachy kind of throw on dress or whatever you want really um from H&M. And I do like this one actually. It’s um it’s quite a light dress. Alan said it’s a little bit see-through. So, which is fine for the beach, isn’t it? But obviously you’d have to be aware of that if you were going out or something in the evening. But I do like it. Again, it’s got some nice little bles um on the ends here, which just finish it off really nicely. I’ve just taken both both of these to the side and then tied them together. So, it just gives a little bit more weight to it. Um I love the neckline. I love the sleeves. And the sleeves could be pulled up to here. like that. And you lost weight on my arms falling down. So you could kind of have it pulled up like that if you wanted to. I quite like the, you know, billowing kind of sleeve thing going on. Um, this is nice because it’s got a lot lot of gather here, so it gives a little bit of emphasis on the shoulders. And it’s um 27.99. Viscos and poly mix, polyester mix. Um yeah, that’s I’ve got it on in a medium. So, which is just right, I think, for me. Yeah, I do I do like this. Same shoes as before, the flat ones, but and because it’s above the knee, I probably wouldn’t wear a higher shoe with it. It could do with just being a tiny little bit longer for me. But it’s a lovely color, isn’t it? It’s really lovely. Lovely color. Really proper dark olive green. Yeah. Really love. It’s everything the last dress wasn’t. It’s got lots of detail in it, isn’t it? Yeah. And I think this neckline is much more flattering for me anyway. I mean, it might suits you. Yeah. Yeah. Depends what shape you are, doesn’t it? But I really like it. So comfortable. So, um, light on and everything. So, yeah. No, it looks great. Really like this. Yeah, it’s really nice. The back. Not much to it really. It’s like a like a little shirt dress in a way. Um, you could wear something under it maybe and wear like white shorts and a t-shirt, white desk top and have it open. That would look quite nice. Um, so that’s outfit number three. Still in the summer mode. Got to keep Yeah, got to keep there as long as possible. Yeah, absolutely. Every day counts now, doesn’t it? Outfit number three. Outfit number four. This is a dress red and cream um with one of those belts that I really can’t stand. It’s sort of as soon as you sit down or something, it’ll all crunch up. But you had your own belt. I haven’t got one really that goes with this, but um you need something to pull you in here. And I also don’t like the sleeves. I feel like they they’re too big. I would prefer them a bit more fitted and up there I think would be better. But the pattern on the dress is really nice and the fits good. I’ve got it on in a small actually. So it does come up quite big. If you I’m 5 foot two and this is quite a good len length for me. So, I don’t know whether it’s supposed to be MIDI on other people, but there’s no pockets or anything. It’s 27. No, is it 22.99? No. Yes. Yeah. 22.99. It’s 22.99. 22.99. And it’s 100% visos, but partly circulos pulp. I don’t know. That sounds really odd. It’s just heard of that one. Circulose pulp. I can read that even backwards. Partly viscos partly made with circul pulp. So, you like it, don’t you? I think the colors really suit you. I know what you mean about the sleeves. Yeah, they’re a little bit like lazy. I think not thought about the sleeves like that. It’ be a little bit smarter, I think. But I think it really suits you. And I think the price again is excellent, isn’t it? No, but the the price is really good, isn’t it? Yeah, it is. Yeah. If you needed a dress like as a wedding guest or something like that, you really dress that up. And yeah, it is it is nice dress. Oops. Disorientated then. It’s that vulker in between takes again. Yeah. So, that’s this one. I’ve got another one to show you that uh it’s not this style, but it’s again a long dress. Um I’ll show you that. But it’s a it’s a little bit big. They only had it in a large. So, I thought I’d try that. But when I when I opened it all up, it was huge. So, um, see what you think. Anyway, I’ll go and do that now. Outfit number five is this enormous dress. It’s just a lot of dress here and it’s quite a stiff fabric, so it doesn’t just hang very nicely. But um it’s not bad. I mean, alo I’ve got it on in a large, so maybe two sizes down would be even better. It’s not too bad up here, but I think you can see it’s it’s big. Um, but I think it’s very pretty and it’s got that same kind of belt that’s uh annoying, but I’ve just wrapped it around twice and tied it with a a knot there. Um, yeah. I mean, I think this looks a lot better on than it than it did off. Um, I like these sleeves. Yeah, is rather large. It’s $27.99 and it’s 100% cotton. So yeah, that at least that would be quite cool in a on a hot day. So that would be nice. Um yeah, that’s the back. I haven’t really done much with the belt because it was all pre- stuff. was a bit difficult to sort out. Um, yeah, I think if you had some pearls or something that would look nice. Uh, just a nice summer dress really. It’s a nice pattern, isn’t it? Yeah, I think it’s um sort of a Could go anywhere in this dress. Don’t you like really? So that is number outfit number. I’m outfit number five. I’m a bit disorientated today. I’m not quite with it. Um outfit number five. 27.99. 100% cotton. Back in the game. Yeah. Lovely stuff. Outfit number six. This is a little bit of a wild card. I saw these trousers and I really liked them. I don’t know where I would wear them, but I just thought they were fabulous. They’re a little bit long for me. I’ve put them on with my highest shoes, uh, but that they’re still a little bit long. So they are 82% polyester, 17% cotton, and a percent of elastain. 22.99. I’ve got mine in a medium. I don’t know if I could have gone up uh gone up other up a size cuz they’re well they’re not tight but they’re very fitted but then don’t think they would stay up if they No, I think I think they’re right size apart from the length. the length. Yeah. But um tiny little buttons, but just those two stuff on the back. And this is my own shirt, but uh just needed a white one to kind of set them off. Um got a little bag from Primark to go. Actually, I really like this. I didn’t see that. Was it Primark or was it in No, it was in Oh, no, no, no, sorry. It was in um It was um It was in H&M, wasn’t it? It is in H&M. Yeah. Yeah. No, this is really nice, actually. It’s $18.99. Yeah. I mean, it’s synthetic, but it is a really cute shape. Um there’s no other handle or anything. It’s just this one. But I think this is fine. You can wear it like that as well, which I would um probably I’ve got M&S jewelry on. These are from M&S, but they were in the sale, so I don’t know if you’d find those. Um, so yeah, a little bit off the wall for me, but I really like them. And I’m not quite sure where I’d wear them, but they’re unusual, aren’t they? Yeah, but they’re that tweedy fabric that is in all the the jackets at the moment. So, yeah. Um unusual, but in a good way. Yeah. Yeah, I really like them. They’re probably one of those things that you really like in your wardrobe for a month and then go, “What? What the hell was I thinking?” Um very nice, darling. be really nice to to hear what you think because they wouldn’t be for everybody. Um they’re probably about an inch too long, but probably wear different shoes. This was just to bolster them up a little bit. Yeah, really like them. A little bit kind of fitted on the tummy, which I’m not keen on, but I’m trying to get myself over that. Yeah. So, this is outfit number six, the wild card. So, I’ve got one more outfit to go and um yeah, and then that will be it. So, seven outfits today. So, it was a long one. If you’re still here, thank you very much. Outfit number seven. Last one. Got a little bit of a dressier outfit. And um different shoes again from Primark. These are really pretty. They’re not the most comfortable, but um I really like them. They go very very well with the outfit as well. And these are $16.99 from Primark. Okay. Now, the skirt, it’s not a bias cut. It’s just a pretty much an A-line long a-line skirt. And uh but equally it doesn’t cling to the tummy as much as a vi cup would. I have got a little slip under it just to keep it from clinging to my underwear. Um which gives it a little bit of more of a lining. I think that works quite well with it. And this jumper. Yeah. So the skirt is $22.99. I’ve got it on in a medium. Visos and The jumper is $19.99 and I have it on in medium polyester, acrylic, wool, and stone, but mainly polyester and acrylic. It’s pretty warm, that’s for sure. Um, but I thought these colors together, this is sort of a champagney kind of color and a cream. Um, but I thought the fabrics really went nicely together as well for a kind of elegant look. Um, I mean, you could wear any shoes with this really. I just put these on because that’s what I got. But I think they do look quite nice with it. Yeah, same jewelry. It’s getting a bit hot in here now. This is unusual this uh jumper with the pep plum here. And uh I think it just is is nice if you do want to cover your tummy a little tiny bit. You know that works really really well. So yeah. Do you think do you like it? I think it’s one of the nicest outfits of the lot. Yeah. I think it’s really nice. Nice and dressy. And like you say, it’s elegant. And the jumper is a I’ve never seen a jumper like that before. The the fit the fit. It’s really nice. It’s unusual. Again, unusual. You picked out some quite different stuff in this haul, wouldn’t you? Yeah. There there was We’ve got quite a good H&M actually. Quite big. And um that has a lot of stock that had a lot of sizes as well. Um they still got the sale going on in the background, but had a lot of new stuff and because the story is big, they tend to have um a really good choice in there. So, we were able to kind of walk around and put the outfits together. There’s there’s so much to choose from. Um a couple of things I don’t particularly like, but in general, I think, yeah, I think I’d did quite well. I think we spent in total £240 for everything, didn’t we? Yeah, but we also Plus the shoes. Plus, there’s a couple of things you haven’t shown as well. Yeah. Isn’t there? Yeah. The top that you didn’t show. Yeah. There’s a blue shirt that I didn’t show to go with the trousers. The one I chose as well. Which one? That kind of patterned one. No, no, we didn’t get it, darling. Can we get it in? No. All right. That could be for another video, though, cuz I just like that. We’re trying to do an Alan’s pick for each video, but yeah, we had to put that one back. It didn’t make the cup. Anyway, yeah, I think this is a nice one to end on. And I think this will suit any shape or size or length or width. Definitely. It’s a little bit warm, but um it’s not too bad. There’s my bag. This would be nice, is it? Yeah. Like that. You like that? This is a really nice bag, actually. I do like it. I mean, the shoes are amazing from Primark. I think, you know, there was there was a lot to choose from there, but um these aren’t that comfortable, but they’re not too bad considering there’s just not a lot holding your feet on, you know what I mean? Uh but yeah, such a bargain. $16.99 and the flat ones were eight. So, yeah, really, really good value. $18.99. I think this is like a classic style that you could use with everything. So, I think that’s worth it as well. So, that’s it for the haul. Um, I hope you liked it all. Uh, some you might have liked, some you didn’t, but that’s that’s okay. Honest opinions welcome. So, I’ll go to the chair. That sounds like like I’m going to be executed. Um the chatty chair, not the other kind. Um and have a little chat with you. I haven’t got much to say this week, but uh and it’s a long enough video anyway, but I’ll give you a little update. So, see you both there. So, I’m back in the chair. Um, so, thank you um to everyone that sent well wishes to Alan last week and the week before probably. Um, he’s much much better now. It’s turned a corner, but literally only in the last couple of days really. It seemed to have lasted forever. Um, but it was just lingering. The fatigue and everything was lingering, wasn’t it? Yeah. Yeah. No, it’s been been quite quite a long time feeling unwell. It’s not it’s not nice. Yeah. You think it’s going to just take the course of a like a normal cold, but Yeah, it really didn’t. So, that’s co, isn’t it? Yeah. Um, and it just Yeah, it does make you feel feel very tired. But he’s back. Yep. I think I’m about 95% now. And the beard’s gone. And beard has gone. The eyes are brighter. Yeah, he’s got a wet nose. And I even raised a smile. So, he’s good to go now. Yeah. Thank you everyone. Yeah, it was really nice. Everyone was wishing us well. So, really, really touching. Thank you. Um, yeah, thank you for those comments. There was quite a um It’s funny because some sometimes the comments show that one particular outfit was a favorite. Like when I did the Tesco haul, that black skirt got so many likes and um every everyone liked it. One lady was running out the door to get it um at a local Tesco. Uh they did still have it actually, but I think they put it in the sale and um yeah, everyone seemed to really like that. So it’s very funny like what you think, oh should I should I show this? But then everyone liked it. So and I think um I can’t remember last week’s M&S, wasn’t it? Oh, not the Spencers. Yeah, I hope you all enjoyed that. That was nice to do those. But it it was the brown. Everyone said it suited me and that’s really kind. But it made me how some colors can make you feel is very strange, you know, that it I feel like it does absolutely nothing for me. And I felt really dull and drab in it, you know. Um especially that brown dress at the end that was controversial. Some people liked it and others said, “No, Alan, you shouldn’t have picked that.” I still liked it. I know what you mean about the shape. Yeah, but um it tall people can wear that. Tall thin people can wear that, but not little me. I look like I was three months, four months gone. And uh because the brown came right up to here and that was a neckline I really don’t like either. So, like everything was so so badly wrong with it on me. Um, but some people liked it and that’s that’s what I find all through the comments that uh some people like this, some people like that. So, it’s nice to mix it up a bit today um with the dresses, you know, short and long and then the the funny little tweedy trousers and things just to see what you what you like and what you don’t. So, um and it’s a good idea to try these things. You might see them in the shops and think, “Oh, no, that’s not for me.” But actually, you know, if you you can find the right thing to put with it and the right height shoes and all that sort of thing, they can look nice because I wouldn’t have thought that they’d be okay for me. They I I could have done with them just a tiny bit looser. They weren’t too tight, but I didn’t like the way they showed my tummy so much. But on the other hand, I mean, it’s not that bad. So, I’ve just got to get it in there. Um, but I I really liked those trousers and uh it was nice nice to show something slightly different. And the last outfit today I really liked. I think that’s um even though the scar skirt wasn’t the bias cut, it still worked and I didn’t feel like it was clinging to me as much as a bias skirt does around the tummy. Um not so swishy on the bottom, but but still it was a really nice skirt and um the color was beautiful. So yeah, I think that’s really really nice. Yeah, I think you’d need a you wouldn’t want to tuck anything in, but I think there’s several sort of tops that you could wear with that. So, yeah. So, I was quite pleased with this haul. Um, and I’ll be very eager to know what you think. It’s nice chatting to you on um on the comments because and I do get to know people that comment all the time and leave lovely comments as well. So, I remember remember those people and uh the new ladies that have come over from Lynn’s channel uh Nana. We’ve had so many, haven’t we, we’ve had nearly 500 new subscribers, haven’t we? Nearly. It’s more than that, actually. Yeah. Is it? Yeah. Yeah. It’s gone. It’s gone really well. So, thank you, Nana M. Yeah. I mean, she wanted to get us over 2,000 and actually we’re nearly 2 and a half thousand almost at 2 and a half thousand. So, that was amazing. So, thank you to all the new ladies or men that have come over to to watch our channel. Really appreciate it and I hope you’re enjoying um the videos. So, um what else is there, Alan?
