From here on, it’s the world of miscellaneous goods and cafes. Shall we climb slowly? A cat appeared at the end of the path. It’s wearing a collar. I wonder if it’s someone’s pet cat. Apparently there are a lot of cats living in Onomichi. Going to look for cats is also a fun thing to do. This is a temple called Hodoji. In one corner of the temple grounds, there is a cafe. I found a small sign under the cherry tree! This is a cafe that is only open on weekends. A small window overlooks the cherry blossom trees. A small, quiet and relaxing wooden interior The sound of the pendulum clock resonates pleasantly. Add lots of honey. The inside is chewy, just like a donut. Oh, we met again lol There is a small bakery at the top of the hill. This is a tiny little bakery on the hill. Apparently it was modeled after a bakery that appears in a picture book. Go down the hill and the cat trail begins here. There are many stone cats on the road. The famous Fukuishi cat from the Cat Narrow Road　 There are many hiding under your feet, on the walls, and in other unexpected places. A narrow, overgrown road stretches out like a cat parading around. There are many hidden cafes inside It seems like it would be fun to just drop in whenever the mood strikes. In one of these narrow streets, there is a cafe I like. It’s a small atelier cafe where cats live. Cat Alley: An Atelier Where You’re Sure to Meet Cats There are several cats living in the store. The place where I live is beyond that. This is our first destination today. Behind this heavy door is the cafe. The interior is small and feels like a secret hideout. View of the garden and sea from the window Yuzu tea, a relaxing and soothing drink Crumbly soft cheesecake A moment feeling the cold morning air A cafe so relaxing you’ll want to take your breath away The antique furniture and illuminated seating are also lovely. It was a sophisticated and beautiful cafe. Now, we continue on through the narrow path to our next destination. I found a sign for the store on a narrow, winding path. An old house surrounded by trees Sit at a table with a view of the ocean through the trees The smell of old books hangs in the air inside the store. Keema curry with a nostalgic taste The mushroom toast bread is also crispy and delicious. It’s like a cafe in a Ghibli movie. Outside, it started to rain a little Now, I have to get down before the rain really starts. As soon as we left the mountain, it started raining. Let’s go to one last shop that we’ve been interested in. This is a retro Showa-era café that was renovated from an eyeglass shop. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a Showa-era school. The secret lies at the end of the narrow passage It goes on quite deep Oh! I can see the sign in the back. Further to the left, there is a secret shop The entrance is hidden away The inside of the store, where photography is prohibited, was a really nice space. A secret bookstore. Be sure to stop by.
