All right good morning from chanthaburi today  we’re going to cross this bridge and take you   into a 300 year old Waterfront Community but  before we do that can we take a minute to   appreciate how beautiful chanthaburi is check  it out proper nice little Riverside Town look  

At this over there we’ve got the biggest church  in all Thailand and then yeah I don’t need to   say much it’s well nice So the plan is we’re  going to head into here into the chanthaboon   riverfront Community we’re going to walk  from one end all the way to the other and  

On the way we’re going to try as many local  Specialties as we can as many foods drinks   whatever let’s go look at this straight away  you’ve got an iconic wooden stilted house here   on the River look at that this is going to be  one of the most beautiful in chanthaburi look  

At that well nice imagine living there with that  view outside your window of the church you won’t   get bored would you right so that bridge we’ve  just walked to was only built in 1999 before  

That if you wanted to get to that church you  had to go across in a little boat like you   can see on this picture look at that it looks so  different even the cathedral wow right let’s go

In now this was actually the first road here in  chanthaburi the first pro community and back in   the day it was a bustling trading Hub of chinese  vietnamese and Thai people nowadays the city’s   expanded but this little area has kept its  traditional side and it is really nice it’s  

A chilled out little part of chanthaburi so let’s  go let’s walk all the way down to the other side,   lottery seller there he goes into the wind  all right let’s go holy moly look at this   I need monthong monthong oh so big that’s  like probably the biggest durian I’ve ever  

Seen Dam I oh I can’t even pick it up with  one hand oh it’s so heavy oh my goodness me 200 a kilo right wow that’s ridiculous that okay  I wonder kilo did seven kilos oh wow seven kilos  

Wow okay you’ve also got snake fruit here and  yeah that’s a proper durian that is it oh it   smells good this straight we’ve just realized  that durian would have cost 1,400 baht which is  

Like 32 quid that is crazy I mean it’s quite a  good price for such a big durian but that’s my   dream that to buy a durian that big maybe we’re  going to have to do it one day right we’ll start  

With some snacks and a coffee so we’ll get a  classic little khanom kai here then what we’ll   do is go straight across the road to this humble  little coffee shop here let’s get ourselves some   thai coffee some Cafe boran we’re going to get  two so we’re going to watch how she makes these  

Coffees first you just put some hot water  into the cups heat the cups up I’m guessing now this is absolutely classic Thai  coffee this this is as traditional as   you’ll get so the condensed milk goes in a  nice generous amount as well which is what  

You want condensed milk is so good A bit of  evaporated milk goes in there we go look at that and now the coffee which which is made in the  sock as you can see proper stuff there we go it’s  

As simple as that it takes literally like 1 minute  oh it looks good okay there we go up my this is a   shoes off establishment in here and you can’t not  love it look it’s so old it’s a proper old house  

With all the pictures on the walls the roof it’s  cool is it it’s really cool got more have some   little cups for tea so let’s pour a little tea  actually look at this look at the handle let’s  

Go there we go all spilt a bit all right so mix  it up ancient coffee you can see the layer of   condensed milk that’s strong coffee so yeah we  just have to mix this in now make it nice and sweet you’ll see right now it  will change color it lighten  

Up look at that that’s what you want you try leesh Cheers oh it’s so good so sweet  but then it’s got like a proper   bitterness as well you should be  drinking this in Thailand it’s   really good and these are 20 baht  each then we got the tea to go down

After there you go cleans your palette  what else have we got khanom Kai yeah   like a Thai egg cake dessert now these  are made with just egg sugar and flour   do you crack these off them and  they go proper well with this

Coffee it’s go good it’s good it’s a classic  it’s the classic taste that taste of Thailand   yeah it is you know we barely drink Cafe  boran no we should drink it more yeah we   should a lot of good coffee in Thailand  and it’s good hot as well like even on  

A hot day I I think it tastes better hot than  I personally so yeah we got our egg cake look   at this now that spot is legendary across  the road you can see the word original on   the sign are they’re the first one it  looks it proper old building so cheers

Again really simple but they’re they’re  good they don’t look that much but they   good aren’t they yeah look like an  Airy cake it looks a little bit like dry I don’t know if this is  a done thing but it tastes   really good dipping your dessert into the coffee

I it’s really good it’s really good good [Music] okay right so let’s walk directly across   the street let’s get some seafood noodles  for breakfast this is going to be good what so I’ll just show you this new shop right oh you ask me what noodle I

Wanted okay this lady is ruthless she’s  like straight up so the rice noodles go   straight in they get blanched  put some bean sprouts a bit of veg so there we go just  literally like 10 seconds in it and then we’re going to get mix  sea food so we’re going to get a bit  

Of everything and as you can see  it’s all fresh every day in the   window here can we see so we got mantis  shrimp crab there’s two types of crab though okay they got two type  of crab there and Squid okay   and she’s got some shrimpies there as well can you

See okay okay she throws in a okay so some sort of like Little Fish dumpling this is a classic noodle  shop so there we go she just making   it making it look all nice get a  little bit of everything some more crab okay oh what is that like oh n

What is that you’ll have to let me know and  here’s the tom yum magic what up okay let’s watch this wow this is going to be fantastic oh  perfect all right that smells incredible   smells good doesn’t it now my mate Gary the  Roaming cook actually recommended we come  

Here so this one goes out to you Gary there  let’s show you what we’ve got in here now   it is all going on we have got the two type  of crab we’ve got shrimp we’ve got loads of   different bits of crab actually I have no  idea what’s going on we’ve got squid it’s  

Just a seafood medley there’s a lot going on  what we’re going to do straight away try that   bro cuz it looks hot don’t it look at that I  think it’s going to be really spicy and sweet

Look fantastic so good it is really sweet but  it’s got a serious kick that is that is pretty   very sweet at the same time oh that burns it’s  good [Music] though the Chinese ladies ordered no   spicy then we english come in ordering extremely  spicy doing it for team England there we go let’s  

Just quickly try a few bits in there look at  we got those Mantis shrimp they look really good oh it’s so good it’s really  hot though let’s just try some the Soup and then let’s get some of the  Crab where’s the crab shrimp are

Massive so the proper crab claws if I can  get one out I just have to like bite the meat off that’s so good that’s really good  and there’s another type of crab in   here where is it or is it I can’t find the  other crab there’s just too much stuff in  

Here genuinely it’s just Stuffed full fresh  seafood we’ll just have a bit of that squid though fantastic also lots of veg in here that really good that a seriously good  noodle it’s tomyam ranks Seafood tomyam it’s up

There going to have a little taste now I’m  going to try the broth first some of that other crab so good like you said it’s really  limey and sweet what’s this one it’s   like a little fish cake thing like a  fish dumping she put in eat it let us  

Know what that’s like that’s it got a  fish dumpling really good yeah but the   fish taste taste isnt like a processed fish  dumpling is that proper fish that’s what you want really good one last thing these mantis  shrimp need a massive shrimp because here in  

Chantaburi they’re in literally everything  every restaurant sells noodle soups of these   the other day I had a pad krapow with Mantis  shrimp in they’re fantastic so if you’re in   chanthaburi make sure you’re on these look  at them like aliens really good proper meting  

They’re really good now I’ve just seen these on  the table and it’d be rude not to have a couple   so these are khanom tuay which literally means  dessert in a bowl so we’ll open these and show   you what’s inside these are an absolute classic  so there we go really simple just these little  

Coconut milk desserts you get your little  spoon which are here as well and then we go   off for it smell well good smells so coconuty  so it’s like creamy on top and then underneath  

Oh it’s like jelly almost so I’ll show you in  here if I can do this one handed yeah look at   that that is a good looking dessert in it is  it’s really good so creamy super creamy that  

Is a really good khanom tuay that’s really good  that one of the best I’ve had that oh yeah there   that pan underneath as well yeah so the bottom  half pan top so right let’s see how much that cost 120 pretty good price to that’s like  under it’s like £2.50 for all that

Seafood had to be with which is never ideal   but you got to do what you got  to do the hardest not to break no second we came one year ago we like chanthaburi   so beautiful Town yeah really  nice Town good too oh little bit very spicy yeah it’s  delicious as well really very

Okay okay okay enjoy your trip okay goodbye the top spot that so we just started  the morning here right look there’s the khanom   Kai the dessert shop for the egg cakes  there’s the coffee shop we went to and   then there’s the noodle shop look at that  literally in this little cluster so that’s  

What this street is like there’s just so many  traditional spots like dessert spots food spots   noodle shops it’s lovely so we’re going  to head all the way down what a lovely day windy it’s quite quiet on the street today  as well yeah at the weekend this place is  

Very busy with like um domestic tourist Thai  tourist not for some reason there’s absolutely   no foreigners pretty much here which is Criminal  cuz chanthaburi is one of the most beautiful towns   in Thailand for me anyway like look just look  look at the architecture we’ got the proper old  

Architecture like most of the houses I believe  like 150 years old as you’ll see as we go down   really happy we came back here because the first  time we didn’t appreciate it no I’m really glad   that we’ve come back to really appreciate it  it’s a place i’ come back here look you’ll  

See as we walk down the street you’re going to  see why it’s a special place look at these old   wooden balconies up there oh what’s this lady  flogging what do you have snacks snacks is it   coffees instant coffee and stuff right yeah it’s  a proper little Community it is a community like  

You can feel the old Community vibe from from  back in the day cuz everyone the generations   of people who have lived here all the life  aren’t they everyone knows each other it’s lovely so here we’ve got the huge Chinese temple  here in the chanthaboon area so I’m just going to  

Show you in here cuz it’s really nice you can  hear the music you can hear in every Chinese   temple ever I’m going to take you over here and  show you the riverv view they’ve got a little

Terrace so yeah check this out is that one of  the nicest views here on the river it’s super   windy today here we go look at this it’s  flipping beautiful so you can see that’s   the bridge we came in on the cathedrals there  you can see the mountains the jungle here in  

Chanthaburi Province over there and then  you can see all the houses lying in the   river stick the camera through this little net  look at that you see the big Temple at the end wchan what a place it’s honestly so beautiful  the chanthaburi Riverside is lovely it’s bloody lovely

Okay here we got something really cool for you  we just nipped into this spot which is a super   old house this house is over 150 years old but  they’ve now turned into a hotel and it’s so nice  

In here I’ve just asked and they kindly said  we can go and look at one of the rooms which   has a balcony overlooking the river so you can  actually stay here 150 years old they’ve like  

Renovated and made it all night nice so I think  it’s up here Villa so we got to take our shoes off then will be fairly quiet cuz it’s a hotel  but wow this place is nice this is somewhere I  

Like just there wonder how much it is in there  I think it’s like 3,500 Baht okay check this out   got the proper back backstage access this room  is so nice but the best bit is this balcony so  

I’m just going to show you that now this is  actually 3,700 baht a night to stay here and   I’m struggling to get through the curtain but I’m  going to show you out here cuz if you stayed here  

You’ve got probably one of the nicest views  in chanthaburi look at this you right on the   river and W that view doesn’t get old as at the  church and the mountains wow look we’ve got the  

Proper old wooden Terrace and you can see the  temple down there as well wow so this is 3,700   baht a night so it’s not cheap but if you’re  looking for a bit of um you know luxury going  

To stay here so the house is over 150 years old  and it’s owned by the same family now seventh or   eighth generation which is just ridiculous isn’t  it it’s mindboggling but yeah look at this should  

We check the bathroom I it be a bit noisy oh  it’s nice what to say it’s nice is it yeah yeah   it’s beautiful wow really beautiful this is the  only Hotel I’ve seen like this here maybe there’s  

Yeah they’ve done a really good job like yeah um  they just renovated it slightly obviously it’s   still an old house but I wish I could stay here  luckily I mean unluckily this isn’t a sponsored  

Video and I can’t afford to stay it but we just  wanted to take a look in the kindly said yeah   so nice the Terrace wow thank you very much and  look at the caring at the top wow okay that was  

Cool getting to looking it let’s carry on the  tour down here we’ve got a little map an image   of the chanthaboon riverfront Community you  can see it’s just this one long street that   runs from from the cathedral all the way down  to the temple just this one strip we’ve also  

Got some pictures of the hotel before it was  renovated some old pictures and they’ve done   a really good job a fantastic job because I’ll  just show you from here they’ve kept everything   the same they just like give it a a lease of um  New Life made it all fresh but it still looks

Waking him up but yeah that’s cool isn’t it I love  this string oh now this right we’re not going to   eat in here cuz we’ve just had a Tom yum but this  is um another nice little spot that has two dogs  

Hello my now this place has two super cute dogs  this is Ping Ping she usually is wearing a dress   she’s not got it on today look she’s proper cute  so what how are you she so cute you’re good thank  

You that is a cute dog where is junior junior is  at home he’s at home he’s not here today oh okay   the other dog’s not here today but yeah this  spot’s also good they sell um tomyum oh they  

Sell everything know good noodle shops loads of  good noodle shops here in this community area I   think I might get a drink last here okay let’s get  a little quick Drink always good to support local  

Business just buy anything what are these this one  is a thai Ice tea tie ice milk mhm and this one is a I don’t know yeah oh should we get that yeah  let’s have one of and this one isce coffee oh  

This is some type of flower drink I said the  word flower and Flor at the same time though   something thinking maybe we’ll see well over  here you’ve got to stop by for ping ping cute   aren’t you you like boss at shop come to the  front door to welcome the guests in yeah beep

Say I love this street there’s so much going  on I’m trying not to get one over here I want   to show you this building it’s just old building  Galore like the are architecture here it’s like   Thai Chinese European mix it’s sick so this is  a little gift shop that’s a traditional snack  

I believe we’ll have a look in here in the back  I’ll show you the back cuz it’s impressive ready okay so I’m just going to show you the back  of this gift shop cuz it’s really cool look  

At this it’s like a little Temple over here we  got the really old painting on the wall look at this wow you’ve never seen so many old  houses in one place than you have here   in Chanthaburi look at this there’s ancient stuff everywhere right let’s get some snacks

Wow 100 years old house it’s  beautiful so can we try these snacks oh they s like a classic snack  here I don’t know what it is though like tofu okay there’s some type of fried snack  and they sell all kinds of different flavors right  

See we got some lime and chili in that one again  we don’t know what this is someone’s going to have   to Enlighten us but I hear these are traditional  it’s not it’s like a dessert or a snack original original so there we go I don’t know what it

Is tofu tofu tofu like a really  crispy fried tofu really yummy really crunchy this is with like um really crunchy crisps m M that one’s very good oh  yeah they’re delicious I’m try all of them oh chilli oh good little  spicy one got a bit chili on  

There that one’s good as well tastes  like sweet chili that’s a good one   wonderful yeah they’re all wonderful  so this snack is from chanthaburi from chanthaburi okay so many local Specialties on   this street another one y oh y  Tom Yum they we’re trying them all really H I really want got little

B so it’s 60 baht no that’s something else what do you call it Sam Sam so that’s three  flavor we’ll get that one okay just just we’ll   get one of them they really good three flavor  whatever that means it’s a thai thing three  

Flavor you see it in like um fish you got three  flavored fish three flavored Seafood craps and   all kinds of stuff but here we got three flavored  so it’s fried tofu tofu to tofu okay so it’s like  

Yeah it’s tofu okay okay goodbye I’m happy with  those cuz they were really good yeah they’re   good we’re going to be buying everything honestly  all right let’s get some traditional Thai sweets   they all sat in I love this lady this lady  is the best we come to buy all the desserts

Okay so we’re going to order and then we’ll show   you what we’re getting this place is  proper classic you can tell by the house wow wow yeah ancient house wow it’s it’s beautiful look look what we looking at wow

Oh European architecture okay okay okay okay  very ancient so I think she’s telling us that   this is like old European architecture  like mixed European Chinese thai mixed architecture okay not all not all okay  okay all 100 year old wow okay okay wow can she makes them wow okay so this is  

What we’re trying she’s giving us  samples this lady’s a legend which one are they the same okay just one get one of everything we try them we in chanthaburi one oh on the other side of other side okay how many years has she made this how

Many 70 years wow you can tell look at so this is a proper family business like a  multigeneration business and Auntie here is 78   and her mother started it over like 70 years ago  this is a proper piece of history and these are  

These are just classic khanom Boran ancient  Thai desserts so we’ll show you in a minute   what we’ve got just having a chat so I’m going  to show you one of these desserts we got now  

Where is it where is it so this little box of  biscuits so one of these desserts we bought is   called khanom landuan now this is super special  they will not let us eat our own by the way we  

Have bought some but the say just Take some of  samples so they’re all a bit broken up but these   come in the shape of a flower as you can see  now these are super interesting because this  

Is made with candle smoke so it’s kind of like a  shortbread right so they make that and then they   put it in a container I’ll just put this here  for one second and they use this I this like  

A scented candle so they light this and then  put the lid on and the smoke obviously fills   the the container and then it puts the flame  gets extinguished and all the smoke absorbs   into these biscuits which is just incredible  stuff and when you taste it smells so good but  

You can really taste the Candle smoke it’s one  of them you need to try to understand but it’s   incredible you can really candle Smoke you really  taste it I maybe it’s so good it’s honestly so [Music] good these are  another type of little dessert

I think she saying foreigners  don’t really like the Smoke   desserts eat these little biscuits instead she’s a feeder I do really well coconut cookies yeah  good them I love this lady feeds us this is oh so this is the old old own  sadly she’s not here anymore 70 year  

Business is amazing I know it’s  amazing is it [Music] they sell everything mixed desserts I no let’s try these we’ll try these these ladies are amazing  so we bought one of everything   but they won’t let us eat our  own for the video they giving

So okay so I don’t know what’s in here actually vegetable some type of bean  anyway we’ll try it looks beautiful , an onion onion on I can taste it tast [Music] that  salty salty it’s like yeah it’s salty like  

Salty onion what is it is it onion or  radish taste like onion mhm really oh   that’s interesting sweet salty chewy really  good oh wow this is this is dessert Paradise   Chanthaburi is dessert Paradise so there’s  one more I dessert we have to try more

So these like little nice gems go Leesh get one  of them oh they smell so good smell like candle wax let’s try one of these then taste more wax that’s also a candle smoke dessert  um that dessert I’m not going to lie  

Tastes like candle wax itself I love  it that texture wise but the taste   is fantastic it’s got the Smokey taste  that’s so good I like mac oh wow look at that Mm wow the best oh best dessert shop ever up thank you so much your name Alicia yes to ellis

Time walk past she’s giving us stuff she’s a  legend so we got a little bag of goodies now   look so funny that we tried to open all of them  like oh we’ll try these no would save them save  

Them so cute what’s this leesh I’ve just got  a huge it’s like a Chinese medicine shop this place smells good yeah it’s a classic old shop  you can see all the drawers there hello I’m  

Just looking d d so you can see all the Chinese  writing on the drawers it smells so good in here   honestly that’s why we came in just just have  a look okay okay goodbye yeah just having a bit  

Of a nosey to be fair delicious I know it smells  so good everything’s um just proper old in case   I haven’t already said oh here we’ve got some  pepper so this area me chanthaburi grow some of   the best pepper so everywhere’s selling it proper  local pepper and it looks like that’s the photo  

Spot down there don’t it all the youngsters are  taking the pics down by the River should we have   a look who’s that dog tiger thing we’re going  to have to investigate that who’s is this dog  

Is it this lady’s here who is this I think this  dog’s too hot what is it hello my friend oh oh   he’s grumpy what he don’t be barking with me mate  it’s always the Chihuahuas in it look at him with  

That who are you with that tail it’s always  the Chihuahuas think he’s a little grumpy old man he’s cute though let’s check this out  then what seems to be the photo spot cup   look everyone’s in all the youngsters like a  school trip but it is a nice little Alleyway  

To be found it’s got going straight to  the river I think so we’ll take a look   at see what’s on the end oh yeah you can go  straight down you can get into the river and   there’s allots of fish okay trumpet fish I  think we’ve got her right so look at this  

This is cool isn’t it you can get straight in  here you can go for a swim look at that for a view it’s like an old old dock for the boatmen I’m going to say it again it’s nice  chanthaburi is nice is it so beautiful you  

Can see all the back of the houses from this uh  from here yeah it’s amazing yeah let me just take   my shoes off oh sure everyone The View proper  Riverfront community in it look the houses are

Overhanging this is one of my favorite views in  time as you walking down the street you will see   there’s a few like fancy coffee shops opened  up I say fancy I just mean a bit more modern   like you can see here like coffee shops bars  restaurants type of things but the majority  

Of things are still as traditional as they once  were so it’s actually quite nice like they’ve   not ruined it there’s just a few little modern  things but the rest is just pure traditional stuff oh what’s this we’ve got here oh so it’s two baht each let’s get a

Bag chanthaburi this is a classic chanthaburi  dessert I’ve heard about this one’s let’s try   them here yeah we’ll try them here in this  little corner and again she’s got super old   house with all the pictures of the last king on  the wall as well I followed open these really  

Cute little pyramids I don’t even know what’s in  this no I don’t let’s see oh the hardest thing   ever opening this want and but we will succeed  we will manage oh what’s that it’s in like a a  

Double layered parcel everyone what is this gosh  this is exciting isn’t it no anything like that   we finally unwrapped it it’s in a double layer of  banana leaf and they steam it in there and it’s   weird it’s like what is it it’s like tapioca  flower on the outside and then we’re going  

To find out what’s inside but it looks good  I trust that this lady makes a fine dessert that’s so weird I like it it’s got  a little bit of a pepper cake like   a yeah like a pepper spice I think it’s  mung bean inside as well oh I like that  

Oh so delicious yeah oh cup yeah it’s  got like a little pepper cake try one of   them Leesh get one one Leesh going to try  that dessert they like more jelly on the outside delicious Mung bean a bit peppery only  a little bit sweet good though is it yeah really  

Glad we tried that one there’s just too much  unique stuff in chanthaburi to try honestly   we come every like 10 meters is someone selling  something cool okay yeah really really cool though   look everyone’s lovely as well so what more do  you want just having a moment of um appreciation  

Oh now this looks like a really good spot that  looks fantastic look at this what have we got here me oh honey oh that looks so good they’ve  got like a noodle Edition here that you can  

Smell it before you even get to it smells so  good but we might have to hold off cuz we’re   going to be full aren’t we otherwise okay  it looks very good okay home home yeah it   smells so good we’re going to have to hold  off because we got some other things we’re  

Going to eat here but that smelled fantastic  here we got a little section with like drinks   coffee stops coffee shop should I say it’s  a Chinese temple up there look at that it’s beautiful again look this gives you like the  um European architecture Vibe like that funny  

Mix let’s keep going let’s get us some ice  cream it’s a boiling hot day what better look   we’ve even got a belter there we got I had  to didn’t know there’s a so I think this is  

One of the oldest ice cream shops on the street  ice cream ice cream so much choice so they have   these types with a crusty shell on and they also  have like ice cream blocks in here oh it’s a hard  

Decision You’ got so many flavors I know what I’m  going to go for I’m going to go for a Thai tea now because we’re in chanthaburi I’m going to have   to go for the Durian we go for the um  Durian durian yes okay okay okay how uh how old is this

Shop how old? oh wow 64 years old  another legendary spot there just   there just too many of them isn’t  there right let’s shut this oh it’s   like a proper old cabinet hey let’s  try it let’s get my ice cream out

Everyone I just Tried didn’t I I jumped the gun  I couldn’t wait so there we go we just got that   giant block of durian ice cream Leesh got the  tire tea Lea’s got like a hard crispy shell on  

I’m excited for this I think I got the one that  doesn’t have milk in the middle oh you’ve got the   out the ice cream in try it so you can get this as  a solid block like leeshes or you can get it with

You bought an extra bag of the dessert  for the noodle shop l because they   actually told us to find that dessert  and check that spot out they told us to   go to the woman there’s two next door  we went to the woman there’s a man as

Well just grabbed another durian Ice cream cuz  there’s actually Loads of shops on the street   that sell them for these people wa three on  a bike there’s Lots on the street and this   one you can see it’s paler not as yellow but  this taste more like a pungent strong durian  

Which for me is actually better that’s that I  like strong Durian taste less sweet more like stinky now this is an absolutely classic spot so hello how are you me okay how s c so we’re going to get two thai tea  then they throw in this little orange right and  

It’s special here I’m going to show it you not  seen this anywhere else in Thailand these tiny   little oranges that they call Som jeed and let  me tell you you smell well good so she makes this  

Like she juices them all essentially she’s got a  big jug of it somewhere and then it’s just classic   sock thai tea the proper stuff see she’s got a big  box of the oranges there as well and she just mix  

Is that with a tea but the actual juice of these  you can see she’s got one off them oh wow so M the   actual juice is extremely sour so they have to  make it really sweet to balance it out so we’re  

Going to get two of these this is such a good spot  all times of the day got the lads playing chess   over here all times of the day so this is the  actual orange juice the juice this is just pure  

Yeah literally freshly squeezed oh yeah there is  your tea going in look at that proper sock tea the   thai way mix all that up then we’re adding that  pureed juice only a little bit gives it a big mix up now what have we got how it goes over eyes wow  

Then we got a little few slices of the  orange on top as well to make it look pretty excited I’m excited my oh right there we  go so good tried it yeah I tried that couldn’t   work right check that out look at color that  that a thinger beauty that so cheers oh it’s  

So good hello it’s got like a the bitter tea  taste you know proper Thai tea taste but then   after super sweet but then Super sour from  those little oranges almost like burns your mouth so refreshing it’s heaven in a  cup I will say something once you’ve  

Drank this you can’t go back to drinking  lemon tea really it’s different isn’t it   so different I’m going to say  this is better than the lemon, lime oh there’s the oranges look at them  some some okay oh there we go she’s showing

Of the best on the street though oh this smells  good so what do you have so what do you okay home home let’s get warm bowl of this so liang  noodles a classic chanthaburi noodle dish   we’ve actually had this before a year ago  not in this spot so I’m excited as soon  

As you walk near this place it smells  so good I’ll just try and look at his broth oh so it’s got pineapple in the actual   um broth can you see that and  say like oh what’s this real real herb oh okay what else have we  got we got some lemon grass all kinds  

Of stuff bubbling away in there wow  okay I need to pass that like okay lemongrass oh is it galangal okay  I need this is going to be good it   looks fantastic honestly smells good as  well right like wet noodles to come look  

At this and again this is so old isn’t it  this is like 100 years old house wow 100   year old again everything in chanthaburi  in this area is 100 years old look at this okay okay there we go that smells so good  like the second he’s brought that over so here  

We got the pork liang noodle so I’ll just show you  what’s in it let’s see what we’ve got got our soup   spoon what have we got different veg pork we  got some Thin rice noodles in there I’m just  

Thinking do we have any pork liver and stuff  we’ll see I don’t think he’s put it in maybe   he thought we would have like it this is okay it  still looks absolutely fantastic let’s just try  

The Broth on its own you saw everything in there  that pineapple in there wow look well good didn’t it that’s so hot but that’s amazing it’s just a  little bit sweet it’s a really clean broth that

How do I describe that it’s really good you  saw everything in there it’s got like a bit   of a you can taste the spices in there you can  taste the lemongrass the galangal whatever that   broth is let’s taste that looks fantastic you  saw everything bubbling away in there that’s  

Really good just like a little bit sweet like  naturally sweet you can taste the spices that’s   good clean is what it is but I’m going to put  a few things in let’s get some chili in there  

There we go let’s get some of this in there as  well it’s like the sour chili and I like this stuff and then we’ll get a tiny bit of  sugar is it this have we got palm sugar   yeah it is oh cheers Leesh there we  go palm sugar oh that that’s the real  

Deal that’s this is what about in it  palm sugar Palm Sugar’s so good it’s   in on another level mix all this up let’s  just taste that now throw all those bits in oh it’s so good really good got nice  taste now let’s try that pork see what  

The pork’s like in there you can see a  generous amount of pork mate there we go cheers that melts in your mouth that’s well soft m   eatthis is a really good bowl  of noodles look at it look so good it so good I got my own [Music]

Leesh had one sip of my broth and  she well oh I have one more as well   leesh cracked it she found the word  I was looking for when I tasted this   broth it almost tastes medicinal  that’s exactly what I was looking for that’s it that’s bang on my

Friend okay it was so good delicious  really good little noodle shop this   classic look at that little humble spot  your house so beautiful the house is so   beautiful be right on we go coming to an end  now we’ve had too much we’ had too much fun too

Much so we’re going to leave you here  now but you’re going to see us again   after we’re going to take you over there  to an absolute belter of a spot trust me off it’s afternoon now so we’re  heading back into town to take   you to that legendary spot wait until you see this

Just park my bike here get it out okay okay 160  for this big bag of Durian chips look at this   quite big now obviously durian is very expensive  fruit so the crisps are also very expensive we’ve  

Had these on for I can’t remember what they taste  like okay okay we’ll try them now okay okay okay   we’ll try these we’ll get out of this Alley cuz  we’re causing a traffic jam okay okay goodbye  

Oh put them in the basket okay there we go sorry  it’s chaotic we got people trying to get through   behind us and we’re blocking the alley right  then let’s try these durian chips now I’ll be   honest they don’t really smell much do they smell  like nothing and if I remember correct I remember  

Them not tasted as much but we’re giving them a  second chance and like I said I couldn’t not buy   from the aunty because every time we walk past she  really tries to get us to buy some she’s really  

Nice she’s lovely so let’s get a little handful  there you go can you see them you look like just   normal just like normal crisps yeah it’s 160 baht  for this bag so yeah Durian pricey fruit let’s try

Him know what that to me doesn’t taste of durian  in the slightest like none whatsoever it tastes   like a crisp like nothing at all tastes like  anything could be a potato it could be yeah it  

Could be anything so for me get your 160 Baht  then add 40 baht and go down there and buy a   kilo of durian for 200 Baht I mean they’re  good crisps don’t get me wrong they’re good  

Crisps really good crisps if you don’t if you  don’t like Durian then this is good for you say   you can eat but but if you’re wanting something  that tastes like Durian this ain’t the product   for you isn’t it funny actually honest review  you what if it’s not it’s not fake leesh is  

Spotted here it says 95% monthong durian and  then it’s a bit of vegetable oil and salt so   yeah I mean I don’t think they’re fake but  they don’t they’re not up there sorry that’s   really straight that isn’t it I thought they  would be a bit pungent but but you know what  

We supported granny that’s all that matters yeah  she’s happy we’re happy everyone’s happy let’s go now this is the spot this place is  legendary this for me could be the best   rad na pad see ew in Thailand so ready how are  we doing believe me wait until you see this how

Okay now this place right is legendary you  see on the wall here he’s got all his old   Woks hanging up can you see we got like 1 2 3  4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 30 like 14 15 woks on the  

Wall that he’s gone through and this guy is  like the king honestly like you’ve never you   you thought you tasted wok hey in your food  smoking your food waiting until your try this   place you’ve never seen anything like it so  in a minute I’ll try and catch him making our Food okay wow 56 years wow amazing it’s  like a again a proper generational family   business here in Thailand they’re all like  this you can see dad’s got the Sons working   in and when he retires they’ll take over and  you’ve got to love that you got to admire it  

So you can see what’s he making the rad  na now oh wow so he’s making a rad now   here he’s making that snotty gravy with  the thick sauce and he’s he’s firing it   everywhere time I’m going to have to  be careful here I need some safety goggles, is this to thicken it

Up so we’ll watch him do this what’s that Sugar  sugar and something else just went in this is   crazy like this walk must be so hot okay so  that’s is that the Chinese kale going in look  

At how much goes in and that all is Wilt down  that wow and the pork is already all in there oh my this is this is a top tier spot like oh that to thicken it up okay  okay so when it’s a bit watery thickens  

It up I think this is is it corn starch so  he’s going to put this in it’ll thicken it   up need to be careful though look he’s  splashing it everywhere mixing it in oh there we go that’s all gone in so that’s going  

To thicken up now I made that  classic rad na sauce the thick sauce and here’s that radna as well  finish look at that you can see the   sauce is now gloopy and thick so that  that just looks fantastic right we’re  

Going to watch our make the pad see ew  to you so first the pork has got him   and look at that I need to be careful  here cuz that’s going to sizzle on me wow how many years have you worked here working here happy okay you’ve been here 5

Years like I say you’ve really got to  admire when everyone takes over these   family businesses cuz when they’re gone  they’re gone we don’t want that like in   the west and all these other countries these  have gone already if nobody wants to do these  

The things the parents did they want to do  I don’t know what so he’s going to scoop   the excess oil out there of the pork into  here and then we’ll watching do the whole thing now here we go he’s cracking the  eggs in like an absolute Master doing  

The one hand one hand trick look at that  got the skill on that one hand crack Wiz   it in I couldn’t do that see look and  that pan is so hot they’re it’s going   to cook straight away just going to mash them  about oh look at that they fully coated the

Pork now the veg goes in okay the the  um Chinese Kale’s going in look at that   he going to stir fry that way you can  see they’ve got a huge basket full of   this stuff look at that wow that tells  you how much they sell a [Music] there

Wow and while he’s doing this look at the smoke  coming off that pan that is so hot and that’s   getting all that flavor in that Smoky flavor in  the food that’s the magic of these dishes that  

Smokey flavor these woks have been battered oh  s a so the noodles are going in the um flat rice   noodles it Cooks these in a separate walk oh so  these get cooked separately oh wow look at that   noodles in and the various different ingredients  what that I don’t know soy sauce oyster

Sauce and they look at them change color  like that straight away now he’s going to   cook these over proper high heat get them nice and Smokey oh yes now here’s the last bit the noodles  have been thrown in for the pads everything just  

Getting mixed up now look at that bit of seasoning  is going in making it how it should make it taste   just right look at that a load of sugar oh MSG  MSG hello now all they say about MSG makes [ __ ] good right that’s a thing of beauty

That okay okay here’s the food right  there’s the radna now look at that that   looks absolutely fantastic look how much pork  is in here right best part is I think it’s 40   Baht and that is a giant portion and here  is the Pad see ew look again there’s loads  

Of pork in there it’s proper decent portion  crazy leesh try it on its own before we put   any extra seasoning on I’m going to get in  bit of everything oh the smell is incredible   that’s that’s come straight from the water it  smells amazing it’s going to be red hot isn’t

It honestly it’s so good the pork is really  tender and you can you can just taste like   a smoke is mental the amount of w it is  crazy I can’t wait I’m going to have to  

Dig in have to dig in here let’s try and  get some look at this everyone you can you   can really smell the smoke as well gosh I’m  doing this one handed it’s quite difficult   oh that’s a good bite but there we go  I’ve managed to get some that is a bit  

Of a big bite maybe I’m biting off more  than that Chew but here we go it smells [Music] smokey have no words it’s up there it’s  like like I said possibly the best in Thailand best without a doubt the first time I I was  like that’s good you thought you tasted wok hey,  

You havent until you come here I promise  you we’ll just season things up put a bit   of pepper in at that and we’ve also got some  chili flakes let’s get some of them in mix  

It all in and we also got the um vinegar and  chilies there we go look at them so just put   that in the um pad see ew as well even better  mix all that in so good so mix this up try it  

Smell it I wish you could smell and taste  it through camera all right let’s try this   that is a giant mouthful that we’ve got new  we got pork the pork serving is so generous cheers so good so good to mix want to sh  it to you been doing the same two dishes  

For over 50 years that’s all they do right  it’s got to be good really something else so look at that sauce can you see how  it’s really really thick that is a rad   na there and the pork it’s just so soft  it like melts in your mouth like thin

Pork so soft cuz it’s so bloody  good had to order another portion   just look at this bad boy look at that everyone it’s unreal as Gary the Roaming cook would say   that is unreal right let’s  pay up I think they are just 40 okay 120 [Music]

One look at that the mountains and church doesn’t  get much better what do you reckon leash it’s been   amazing I think it’s just so unreal how within  one street there’s so many places that have been   open for like 40 50 we’ve been saw 70 years  today they’ve been passed down through like

We worked our way from one end of the chanthaboon waterfront community all the way to the other end, all while eating and drinking as many local specialties as we could.

This has to be one of our favourite streets in Thailand for sure 🇹🇭
