Nemo is right, Daigo actually doing so well against iDom here. I mean iDom beat Tokido 3-0, Gachikun 3-1, and Kawano 3-1 for reset, he's that scary but Daigo giving iDom a hard time here makes me think of what would happen if Daigo meets iDom in the GF instead and had a chance to fight him twice like Kawano since Daigo usually very good in GF reset. But that iDom's Laura mixup is really scary….

iDom is simply a living legend
Love these reaction videos from Japanese players to EVO 2022. It's really shown how much respect they have for iDom and honestly how much he intimidates his opponents with his terrifying mixups. iDom's EVO 2022 performance was legendary and it might be remembered as the greatest SF performance not to result in an EVO title ever. Incredible that Kawano was able to take him down. Those two are clearly head and shoulders above the competition right now, with only Gachikun close behind. Please keep these videos coming!

This would have been my dream GF, love both of them and Daigo was arguably the JP player that made idom struggle the most.

It may be weak as an icon, but I would have liked to see a matchup between Fuudo and iDOM in FT10, who beat Tokido this year when he put all his resources into it.
Fuudo also learned from iDOM's Poison technique and he too is at another level of strength and I look forward to the opportunity to play against him. iDOM also said on Nemo's channel that he would like to fight with Fuudo because he and Fuudo are the same type of players in terms of strategy and character selection.

Daigo could seriously have won this if iDom wasn't there, he was huge in this match.
And there are idiots asking when Daigo will retire.
In my opinion Daigo was the ONLY ONE who gives Idom a run for his money, Kawano took the overall final win, but I think Kawano benefict of how much mental stress Idom had and still Idom was destroying Kawano more than he actually manage to take it back to Idom, Kowano did more SURVIVE than beat Idom, Daigo was the only one who put Idom in trouble.
I'm sure everyone's known about idom since at least his Capcom cup win in 2019 but it still cool to see him get mad props from the top Japanese guys

What I find so different from the American FGC and the Japanese FGC is the collective strategy sharing. Nemo said “we” need to learn how Idom breaks guard. “We” … let that sink in
idom played really well but it was also clear no one from Japan understood the matchup.
The JP community seemed to completely ignore iDom and focus entirely on Punk. Now I'm sure iDom has finally gotten their attention

Daigo is so on point for his anti airs.
So if you stand still, Idom command grabs. If you move you become vulnerable to his low kick confirms. If you block low you become vulnerable to the overheads. And at all times you are vulnerable to sudden elbow combo throw setups.

Plus her dash it's literally difficult to get a read from his gameplay.

Who send Idom to losers brackets?
People forget how long KnuckleDu’s Guile was an obstacle for iDom in tournaments until he figured that out. Daigo is a different animal entirely, but I’d be surprised if that experience with KnuckleDu did not help to some degree. Same thing with playing nycfurby’s Dhalsim assisting with him figuring out Mr. Crimson’s Dhalsim (think Mr. Crimson is more aggressive also).

Idom obviously is great. But I don't like Laura at all. It's kind of boring to watch. A bit like Zangief, it's all about getting people in the blender of throws. Itabashi in his good days did this all the time.

Daigo played amazing for someone who doesn't play against Laura. Not many to players play Laura in Japan. Actually I can't think of one except for Nauman and he wasn't playing her seriously.
High level SFV is really scary like two mistakes and you're dead. In the grand finals you could feel how every dropped combo was terrifying to see.
